Jackson 4?

Michael Jackson's brothers are planning a world tour as the Jackson 4.

The remaining members of the group – Marlon, Tito, Jackie and Jermaine - announced their plans yesterday (09.12.09) for a reunion next year, and hope to recreate the sound that made them stars as the Jackson 5 before Michael went solo.

Jackie, 58, said: "For 40 years, we've had great support from our fans around the world. And we should give them a great tour.

Jermaine, 54, added: "We want to go out there, hit the road and just jam."

They must surely be aware of the number of tributes paid to Michael at the festival, do you think they would consider playing?

No it wouldn't. Cashing in on dead family members rarely works, leaves a bad taste in the mouth and let's face it, any credibility they had went out the window years ago.

I'm all for a famous, aging soul act somewhere in the line-up. I'd rather have Smokey Robinson than this lot though.

Aha, I know that various celebs mentioned his death, but I didn't know that loads of people were massively affected.

I think I would find it really cringey if the Jackson Brothers performed - to each his own though

Thanks Langdale Wolf. Your rather poor and unamusing - and factually incorrect - joke has resulted in me getting two tickets to see Bad Company. Jolly good :P

What the constant jokes? Or everyone singing "Hes dead, he's dead" instead of "Im Bad, Im Bad" when they played it in the bars? Or the signs and tshirts selling "two unwanted tickets to Michael Jackson in the 02".

Imagine if the Jackson 4 played "Bad" and everyone sang "He's dead".

    • I’ve said it elsewhere too but Emily Eavis said a 2028 headliner was booked, to me that’s only going to be someone the size of Oasis or Taylor Swift
    • Christ didn't even see that!
    • It does feel very bland. It would certainly spell another year (my third, I think) away from Pyramid headliners for me. That doesn't mean they aren't worthy, though. I don't follow what any of them are up to, as it isn't my thing. Good luck to them.   You would think coming off a fallow year, they would want one big hitter. 'Big hitter' is obviously open to debate, but that was/is Madonna. Let's have it right. The eggs have gone in that basket, and it seems (as far the rumours go) that it's blown up. So now you're left with another plan B/replacement headliner.   I'm still of the opinion that Oasis will do it, before the Oasis thing is all said and done. Probably 2028, if they can come to an agreement. It may transpire that 2027 is bland (or at least to some of us), and 2028 is a bit... wild.   Again, though, none of us categorically know ANY of the headliners, as it stands.
