Three headliners

Please don't start me on the 'appaling U2/Muse ' debate. I consider myself to have exceptional taste. Yes - those millions are wrong. Generic waffle.

re Prince (stunning writer and guitarist), I assure you this was mentioned by Michael during the last 48 hrs.

Take it or leave it - and yes, as stated, these aren't my first posts, and I've attended GB since 86. And I'm local!

you lot are so very funny!

Bicker bicker bicker. Like a bunch of grumpy old men.

Surely all those bands mentioned would be great, Ive seen them all except Prince and they were all really brilliant, my problem would be who to see! Thank your lucky stars theres no mention of Abba or Andy Williams

Prince would be ok for me but not amazing.

Saw him during the O2 residency and thought he has a tendency to go off into his own little world. I felt a little disconnected from the show, although that was due to the stage layout as well . The stage was in the middle, expensive seats on the floor, everyone else in the tiered seats feeling like watchers in on the party. I had alright seats, halfway up and halfway along in the 1st tier, so the disconnection wasn't due to bad seats

Not sure he'd manage at a big festival that relies so much on crowd participation. He does have enough major singalongs to pull himself through with minimal interaction though.

Now the News of the World is saying the Stones are doing it which would mean no Prince unless Muse weren't headlining, probably bollocks but that's what I thought about the story in The Sun :P

My feelings of Zeppelin maybe doing it still aren't fading even after all this though...

Prince would be brilliant; the best possible choice if we can't have Pulp, Bowie, or Radiohead. I saw him at Coachella last year and I have only the fondest memories. He is one of those rare performers that can have the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand, no matter what he plays (moreso than Springsteen).

Since Eavis already declared U2 the biggest band in the world, it would be awkward for another band of that stature to play, so a legendary solo artist (Prince) and a more contemporary act (Muse, apparently) would fit perfectly.

Fri - U2 (We know that)

Sat - Rolling Stones (If News of World correct)

Sun - Muse (We almost know that)

Thats if we get the traditional 3 headliners.

That leaves the "4th headliner" that was much promised last year.

Prince or Coldplay Sunday afternoon? Now that would keep the locals happy!

But being the 40th, this maybe massive?? With sunset slots being big, big bands???

What ya think??

Even thou I'd argue Muse are more popular than The Stones right now. It wouldn't be a huge step back for them to play before, say U2. If Me is in talks with The Stones and Prince it looks that way. We'll just wait and see, nothing else we can do.
