The fact is I'll find most of my info off here no matter who revealed it first, I can't be arsed searching through all the shit on other sites for breaking stories. It's hardly the end of the world if I have to wait an extra hour or so till the news is on here.

Anyway at least E Fests deals in facts unlike most of the daily rags.

I wouldn't believe the date in the Sun until it was corroborated. I also really hate the sensationalist style of journalism in tabloid rags. Clearly written to appeal to chavs and dimwits.

efestivals used to pride itself on being 'in the know'. When I heard that U2 had been revealed by......The Sun.....as headlining our premier festival I thought I'd have a read through the Glastonbury board to make sure that efestivals had known all along. But no!

What is going on? Has efestivals had its day?

atauly guys. insults about the sun aside.

why was the news given out via the sun??

i mean it is englands most viewed papper, but i can't see why evis or u2 would go to them first??

surly the guardian would have been 1st as it sponders the festival??

(if this topic is already up, post me a link)

In Murdoch's case it's simple. The man wants to make money. He does that by backing the people he thinks will win. Then when they do he can call in favours.

Remember Murdoch backed Blair before he won.

He started swinging towards Cameron but then began to have doubts - not about Cameron and his policies but whether he'd win.

this is a glastonbury thread not a debate about a bloody newspaper. a newspaper gives me my news in the morning, it does nothing else, it doesnt influence my decisions (i have my own brain for that) nor does it do any of the ridiculous things you people are saying it does. i come on here to read about glasto and to get excited so can we keep it about glasto please. if you want to debate newspapers firstly get a life and secondly go somewhere else.

    • She was/is 100% in the mix, but I don't know specific timings and how it relates to that interview. They've clearly gone after her, again.   It could be read in a number of ways - she was in negotiations at that point, she was talking about BST (and he's interpreted it, as we have, as Glastonbury). Who knows
    • So sad to see the news that John Douglas of the Trashcan Sinatras has died. They only released their latest album last week and it is wonderful.  So underrated and a member of such a great long running band that have meant so much to me over the last 40 years. https://trashcansinatras.com/blogs/news/john-douglas-1963-2026
    • listening to jamie east's podcast earlier he said that he'd heard fender is confirmed, and that as of 2 weeks ago Madonna hadn't been approached.
    • which would make that Graham Norton interview nonsense .... although obviously things change
    • I dunno - I thought that initially but I'm, reluctantly, edging towards not happening as it stands. Will continue to dig where I can, though.   Re 2028 - I wouldn't be confident. If this is the second time they've tried and it's gone belly up, it could be a case of just write it off.
