I have a feeling The Prodigy will be back because they can always be counted on to help with crowd control by drawing a significant number of people away from the Pyramid.

Not sure about that - they have their MK Bowl date to sell, and as it's them trying to make a step-up they risk undermining themselves hugely if they play Glastonbury and then MK doesn't sell out.

Its The Last Waltz....2010 style.....

I can see that being on the cards, and quite good too - it would allow an appearance by the likes of Bowie, Robert Plant, McCartney, Dave Gilmour, etc etc who maybe want to take part as its the 40th, but not in a full set of their own. The list of acts Dave Grohl has made live appearances with / collaborated with in recent years could fill a whole day - so its viable, imo.

The Michael Eavis All Star band.... nice :P .

Personally I like the idea of u2 headlining. They're undoubtedly a huge coup for the fest.

How about this for a lineup?

Friday

u2

greenday (mates with u2, did that awful duet with em, said they want to play, in Europe next yr, billie joe seems to want to be Bono)

Saturday

led zep

foos (dave grohl mates with jpj and jimmy page, i kno they're huge but led zep undoubtedly huger, want to play, some talk of them playing etc etc)

Sunday

muse/radiohead/coldplay

faithless/chemical bros/prodigy

Is that complete fantasy? Or this being the 40th anniversary do we think we could get some massive acts not headlining?

I think its going to be Muse that is annouced before the end of the week. They have just put tickets on sale for a tour next year.. in September!! to me that sems very early to put your tickets on sale unless you want to sell it out before announcing glasto..

I think you've misunderstood me.

I've not said any band is going to be officially announced this week. Just that I'll be revealing one.

I am glad.. i cant stand Bono and any of their music from the last 10 years and I wanted this year to be one where I didnt stay at the Pyramid all weekend for headliners. Now I know I will be able to have a look round!!

I really would like to see the early U2 stuff but being the c0ck that he is he will probably play 2 or 3 unless someone gives him 10 trillion pounds tax free.

I wont be taking the risk...

now I just want to hear the M word....

    • I'd assume he's out of the nominal price range, but... stranger things have happened. Bit Marmite, isn't he, though?
    • Know that it isn't unheard of for a band to headline Glastonbury - for I assume that is all Fontaines would accept now - and play their own stadium/outdoor shows in the same summer, but it feels unusual for British/Irish acts, no?
    • Is anyone attending the Morcheeba/Faithless gig(s) on 10th? Our flight time has been brought forward slightly and, although I can't imagine we'd get there in time for Morcheeba, I think Faithless is doable.
    • I Was There the last time Kyie appeared to do this - 2018ish at APE.  What a treat.  What do you think of the current setlist? Am seeing him next Friday, all being well.
    • I havnt even seen the booking page since 2018 i think, its been absolutely brutal - prior to that i was 'the fella with the knack of sorting out everyone's tickets' cos i'd lead with the groups and the organisation of it all, and tended to be the first one through and sorting out a great swathe of us, and now i'm a know-nothing bum again 😄
