I was dancing to Pulp last night and couldn't help thinking how good it would be if they played. Wish the rumours were coming from a better source than the tabloid rags, like Rex I'm trying not to get too excited yet.

But didnt Emily Eavis say that they had already finalised the headliners and were drawing up contracts ect just after ticket day? ....I hope against hope that Pulp do play, it would be perfect but unless this is all just a game by them all to whip up publicity then id say Pulp may well play but not be headlining the Pyramid in 2010.....OR its already in the bag and they are playing silly buggers just to get us excited

Not sure if this is what you are thinking of, but...

I remember her commenting on the bookie's list, saying they were talking to four acts, and two of them were on the list, and two weren't. Can't remember if this was Stanley Bet one or the William Hills. The former had Pulp on (but looks like Stanleys have pulled out of the game altogether), and the latter has never had Pulp.

All in all, not convinced Emily has said anything that rules Pulp out.

So why have they changed to a Strong Rumour?

Because it's starting to look likely from what's going around that Pulp have been asked to reform and play Glastonbury. I can't see why they'd be having the discussions that they are - which appear to be centred on playing Glastonbury - if there wasn't an offer from Glastonbury.

    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
