Really hope they show it, what about at the Park stage now it's been turned around and then another screen at the old cinema field? I'd rather it was on at the Pyramid but it is a music festival I suppose.

England vs Germany just before the Rolling Stones would be quite something though :P

Eavis will do something; as suggested he won't want to piss off the locals.

To be honest, I'd probably anticipate that the pubs around would have an in house system and refuse festie goers anyways.

As for suggestions of Kasabian; can see why as football fans, but they've played the penultimate pyramid slot 2009 and 2007 (plus other stage penultimate 2005 and opened other stage 2004)....that's 4 of the last 5 glastos in prominant slots.

can't actually see them wanting to do it again so soon, as risk of overkill.

The area by the theatre and the fire and Ice stage could hold a couple of thousand. But to provide enougth screens in lots of locations could be very expensive. Any act that has been thought about will have been done so with this horrible problem in mind, as we have been talking about the posibility of this happening for months. Whatever is decided a lot of people will be disapointed this is probably the worst draw for the festival. I do not think vast numbers of people will leave the site but it will have to be a consideration for the organisers.

The rugby this year was absolutely shambolic I thought. The television screen was placed in the least convenient place ever for people who camp in The Family Feild (this is me). Me and dad went back to the tent to get some water and then go see Tom Jones, and by the time we did that, we came back and had to pass through the mass crowd all watching the rugby, and it looked like most of the other people were struggling too. If there gonna have screens then do it on the other stage and have a big act playing the pyramid to ease the crowd.

I've just got in guys and read up to about page 21, sorry if this has already been said but the answer is simple.

So we've established the match is going to be on either sunday or saturday

one of these slots will be taken up with the football and the other will need to be filled by a band.

Lets pick Kasabian, for example. If we end up playing on the sunday then Kasabian will play in the slot before the headliner on saturday. If we end up playing on the satrday then kasabian will still play in the slot below the headliner on sunday but all the other acts will have to get shifted down one.

To get round the extra time bit ME could explain his situation to the council and ask for an extension on the cufew. I think the council would go for this as they would prefer the football to be shown so they don't get loads of people leaving the site.

I hope this makes sense

No question they have to show it.

Personally I'd prefer not to screw up the schedule on the Pyramid and show it elsewhere, however that might be the only sensible option crowd-wise. I think it makes sense to plan for the Saturday as being near certain. Should be a great atmos etc. If for any reason we don't play on Saturday then it's just a matter of asking a band already due to play on Sunday to play another set. Elbow spring to mind!

Like the curfew extension idea... good excuse!

It looks like the perfect excuse to bring back the old Cinema Field. When any well-supported band was on at JP it became difficult to get in and out of the one path to Woodsies. I fully expect a rethink on this lay-out next year.

I also quite like the idea of a few other screens in suitable places, that new bit on the hill with all the flags could be good.

No World Cup/European Championship year would be complete without a MASSIVE thread (or fifty) about whether/where football should be shown.

I'm hoping for England wins in the first two games with both other Group C games drawn, so Wednesday becomes irrelevent and leaves a whole week to organise Saturday evening. :P

    • When do we get stage times through? Also, how close are we to full lineups for the Lorde and Deftones dates?
