The BBC monthly outlook is LATE. C**ts.

That's a minimal - yet obviously unacceptable - amount.

She got off lightly. I'd have divorced her, personally.

She changed her mind when we watched the film last night during the section of clips of some of the muddy years.

My wife said to me the other day (it's her first time there) that in a funny way she hoped it did rain a bit so she could experience Glastonbury properly. I gave her the most evil, cold stare you can imagine.

One of my mates first glastonbury was 2008 when it rained all day every day solidly (except for a bit of dry on the saturday night) and she loved every single second. Thats a one off though and I think she's a bit freaky

I'd rather have 2005 again than 2007. 2007 was relentless crap, whereas 2005 was heavy but by Monday morning you could sit on the grass again.

But lets be very clear, I want no rain at all! B)

And why are the BBC late with the monthly update?

I'm not listening to anything until 2 weeks before the festival (so tomorrow night for me then!!)

177% rainfall? That's absolutely ridiculous! I'm not having that, no way!

I'll spend the 19th (sacrifice day) in the park in my pants on my own looking mental for a sunny Glasto.

Happy birthday Hastingsboy!!

That's getting better - average r***fall is better than 177% but still not acceptable!

Hopefully the forecasts will still keep getting better then. TWIST.

By the way, we were predicted clear skies and sun for Saturday (very cloudy and muggy in the end) and rain and thundery showers yesterday (scorchio with sunburn to prove it)

I DON'T KNOW WHO TO TRUST ANYMORE!!!

Monday 21 June 2010 to Sunday 4 July 2010

What can we expect for Wimbledon?

The arrival of the longest day and the start of Wimbledon suggest that we should be reaching the height of summer.

Indications show a mixture of drier and brighter interludes but still with a signal of more unsettled weather at times. Rainfall and sunshine amounts are therefore expected to be around average throughout the period.

Temperatures should be near or slightly below normal, but perhaps slightly above in parts of southern and eastern England. So not exactly a heatwave, but hopefully some good tennis weather.

About average overall then, but we might get lucky. That could be a lot, lot worse. Still all to play for, fellow sun-lovers.

Now for a rant. Wimbledon. Mentioned on the outlook above. I love tennis - GREAT game, and I'd love to go to Wimbledon one day (my mate said he was really looking forward to seeing the men's semis last year, and that really made me laugh, though my urge to go isn't just because of the easy nob gags I could tell).

But - CENTRE COURT HAS A F**KING ROOF THESE DAYS!!!! They have NOTHING to get anxious about. They don't have to LIVE in the unsheltered countryside for nigh on a week.

So I say that all Wimbledon rain haters don't know they're f**king born, and should try a real test of endurance, not one that means they get a bit miffed with diluted strawberries and a saggy straw hat.

The BBC thing is better than that charlaton Jackone's forecast.... But we can still do better than this. On the 19th of June I promise to do some washing and hang it outside for the rain gods.

That's one court out of 19 that are used in the tournament. Rain can certainly still screw up the early stages of the competition.

Leaving on the Monday, with it still raining, was possibly my most depressing Glastonbury moment. I really don't want that again.

    • Thomas Partey, knocked back by Canadian immigration now.
    • I'm sure someone can update you on the clashfinder, and it will be pretty accurate by the time the festival comes around. It's a large flat-ish arena with main stage in the open air, no best side I'd say. Leadmill (3rd stage medium tent) is at the back of the main arena, T'Other (2nd stage big tent) 5 min walk round the corner. At full capacity walking around can take a bit more time though. I noticed that The Enemy are scheduled to not fully overlap with Wolf Alice, so you could catch part of their set too.   You can walk around anywhere with a beer, with most bars the usual mass market stuff, but one nice craft ale tent, back of the arena near the Leadmill stage. A main meal will set you back £10-15, but cheaper snacks also available. Expect a pint to be £7-8. Possibly a bit more this year as prices everywhere are increasing.   It's fairly easy to get to from the town centre using the tram, although can be busy at peak times / very busy at curfew. If you like a walk, it's approx 40 mins to Kelham Island (lots of indy venues) and probably an hour to the city, or catch an Uber. There will be loads of 'fringe' music events on around the city right through the weekend. Most are free. Have a wonderful trip, enjoy the festival, and your stay in our city!
    • I think people on a place like this, that clearly value live music more than most, don't. I'd rather an academy than an arena every day. But I could see a few people that care about "the gram" than the actual music wanting an arena experience even if it's a mid sized band.
    • The single worst shout for any slot on any stage in the history of efests. Worse even than the Wursels or The Wombles.    Unlikely I’d be there, but okay with the other two. Boy George is a class act, plus he could DJ in Block 9
    • Do people want an arena experience though? Especially for sub par bands. Rather a band do more nights at an independent venue for more money than 1 big one.
