Hi all just doing some research what food would you like to see at festivals? are you happy spending £7 pound on a nasty burger?

since you are doing research are you looking to have a stall? If so the nearer to the main stages the higher the cost of your pitch will be (unless you are acharity and/or a local group) So if you sell food that needs more preperation you may be better further out towards the Jazz World stage. If you are a punter then the food is great the further away from the main stages (Pyromid and Other) yes there are places selling nasty burgers but if you go to a place like Yam the cassava you get a great plated meal for £7.

I do think that food can be a little expensive especially for the amount you get. You can easily spend £10 at Pieminister and while it is good I can go to my local restaurant get service, a table and cutlery for the same amount rather than having to sit on the floor with a wooden fork that always breaks!

There are some good deals and some excellent food but generally a bit pricey imho.

Where have you tried scudeto_boy?

I've had loads of festival food I've loved and found to be much better value than say - a chain restaurant like toby or harvester, although there are clearly one-off restaurants that are better.

At the same time I think the combination of excessive alcohol (whether under the influence or recovering), extreme tiredness, and fresh air makes everything taste better!

Agreed mate, the food at most the festivals I attended this year has been fantastic.

From the Argyll Food Markets of Rockness, Belladrum and Wickerman to the excellent choice at Glastonbury, Bestival and even the local pubs/chippys of Loopallu...

But most of the caterers at Glastonbury also appear at many festivals, there's only a few one offs - which I must admit i do like to seek out.

where they are the same caterers surely nothing makes it that much different buying their food at Glastonbury as opposed to another festival?

It's weird this - I have to say I've had some decent nosh at Glasto over the years (some a bit pricey), but for the life of me, I can never remember what any of them are called.

Probably because I never look at the names!!

The only thing I can positively name is the Brothers Bar - but then you can see the big blue and yellow sign from miles away.....
