as you know, having lived there, I've been to Dealey many times. you'll really love it. A few of the Oswald landmarks are now in not particularly nice parts of the city (Oak Cliff, south dallas areas) so just take a little care, although during day time its fine. If you want any tips of other things to do in Dallas while you're there then pm me sometime.

I love Dallas. Can't wait to go back.

edit: as an open minded londoner I think they're fine. While middle class dallas folk will tell you to take your M16 with you, but they're all paranoid. saying that some areas of south dallas are *very* bad, like top 10 homicide neighbourhoods in the US bad.

Planning this exact journey. Taxi ride and all. Looking at this part of South Dallas on Street View, its completely different to how I imagined.

Nice! Yeah, all that stuff in the south west corner is Oak Cliff, still a bit rough but getting gentrified, but no problem at all with those particular streets during the day. The Texas Theater especially is lovely. Such a beautiful building and on a very cool street.

My driving instructor took me to the house Oswald moved to when he was 5. that was in a really beaten up state in a very shitty part of town. one to definitely do in a car if you decided, wouldn't bother though.

I can def give you the things to do and miss in 48hrs in Dallas, so yup, hit me up nearer the time.

Will do Ed cheers. There about 6 weeks before the 50th anniversary of the assassination so there'll be a few things going on but none of the hussle and bussle there will be a few weeks later.

Also going to New Orelans so will be doing some Oswald searching there too. My (relatively) new missus has no idea whats shes signed up for!

Its not in Waco, its in West, which is 20 miles at least from Waco. Just Waco was the nearest town of any size. Got friends in Waco who say that they're hearing from their friends in West that the town's been flattened. Awful stuff. Has to be an accident but the crazies are going to be all over this one

Course it is. But people have made their minds up already that its not in the face of zero evidence.

What a week for America though. Boston marathon bombed on Monday, the proposed background check bill bizarrely wasn't passed yesterday and then this explosion which has killed "5-15 people so far". But I think they may be adding a zero to those numbers judging by the size of that mushroom cloud..

Obama yesterday after the bill didn't pass. He looked in genuine shock. Couldn't believe it.

They come to a conclusion before they've seen any facts and then work backwards - cherry picking info, quote mining and ignoring common sense in order to suit their agenda. Every single conspiracy theorist works that way. Theres no logic to it at all.

So in this case, if someone believes the explosion was a terrorist attack, they'll work from the minute the bomb went off and travel backwards in time and build their case with small bits of info.

So yes theres undoubtedly disgruntled employees who worked there, people with criminal records who lived nearby or have just moved to the area, faults in the building and the processes that have been missed by inspectors, people with political agendas etc. If you work that way its easy to build a case for conspiracy.

According to the tin hat wearers, the Boston bombing was a "false flag" operation by the US government intended to provide justification for, errr, something. Either they were real bombs and the government didnt mind killing a few people or it was all staged. Those who believe it was staged spend hours and hours "analysing" media photographs and joining some bizarre dots. And, in any case, almost everything we see in mainstream media is fabricated, so you believe anything.

My issue with conspiracy theorists, mainly American ones(unfortunately much like everything else in their culture it is leaking into ours)is that a story is barely on the news and it becomes a 'false flag', government/Illuminati scheme etc etc there is literally no room left for any other option other than an inside job. I prefer, like most sane people, like to give it time for a story to develop, for facts to come out(which according to these whack jobs just gives more time for them to control things). Over time we then get the benefit of several investigations, documentaries etc etc

I love conspiracy theorists. They claim to think logically yet all their evidence is Youtube videos. I post on a few about chemtrails and ir amazes me what crap they come up with. They seem to make up stuff as they go along, no they do make up stuff as they go along. But when you argue with them and produce some peer reviewed literature to back my argument they instantly accuse me if been a paid shill in the employ.of the g'ment. Totally rational people appear to believe that.
