Why do you think it was a pity (a genuine question)? Personally, I loved seeing how it had evolved in my time away and my own thought was that all the the things that had hanged were essentially for the better

No more kids, no more hippies (to an extent), and no more worshipping of Michael "I'm not in this for the money honestly despite charging £27.00 for a plate of chips" Eavis, and Glastonbury could actually rival some of the better festivals around.

Can you clarify what you mean by parents feeding their children drugs? What drugs? How certain are you that these were drugs?

OK, I had assumed the high horse brigade wouldn't be too happy with that post, but you can't please everyone.

I'm not a "troll", what I've posted is what I believe, and just because you lot don't agree with it, and because I'm from Catford, doesn't make my opinions any less valid. I saw at least 3 under-18's gurning, and one was dabbing powder. If it's not their parents supplying them, then I don't know who is. Even if it's not, they shouldn't be there in the first place. IMO.

Kids that age should be playing football, robbing sweets, knocking on old peoples' backs and running away, drinking cider down the park while trying to finger people. They should NOT be at festivals, and certainly not festivals where drug taking is so rife.

Agree with me if you want to, disagree if you want to, I couldn't give a toss, but I know I'm right. If you're going to have a childrens festival, you should also have a social services tent, where decent people like me can report the scumbags pushing pills onto their kids.

Ummm, when you say 'under 18s' what kind of age do you think they were? Cos there are plenty of teenagers who go on their own so they are hardly under parental supervision! Could they have been eating sherbet?

If you are that concerned then there is a police presence on site, report it to them, drug use is illegal for everyone and I'd reckon that giving drugs to kids is tantamount to child abuse, which is also illegal.

OK, so you have no evidence to suggest that these under 18s were given the drugs by their parents? It is merely a theory because you don't think drug dealers would sell drugs to under 18s?

It is true that drug taking is rife in Glastonbury, but it is also rife in many cities, and secondary school children can purchase drugs with ease, often in the playground.

It is also difficult to report this to Social Services (or Childrens Services, as they are now known), unless you either know the children, or can point them out easily. It would be better to report them to the police, who will then get Children's Services involved as needed, from the children's local area as well as Somerset Childrens Services.

Myself i would never take any kids to any festival under the age of 12,mainly as i would not feel it safe with the big crowds. Its something i would not feel happy with at all,but if others want to take them then its there choice,and from what i have seen at this years Glastonbury many do,only thing i will say its a pity some of them don't look after them while at the festival,young children at main stages on parents shoulders with no ear defenders is not good parenting. Take your children if you want but LOOK AFTER THEM.
