Countless people on here said the exact thing about Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen. Dozens of people asked me who was headlining Glastonbury I'd say Bruce Springsteen and get the reply 'BORN IN THE USA' and then I'd say Neil Young and would get 'who?' back. Totally depends on the demographic you ask so just because you don't know them doesn't mean they are 'unkown'.

They would be an amazing headliner, They won't be doing the Pyramid set-up like they did in the 07 tour but I'm sure they'll have something else lined up. I doubt money is that much of a problem or they wouldn't have played Rockness 2 years ago.

Interesting to see this, perhaps a 2010/11 tour could be happening.

the old dance tent wasn't big enough for them when they played in '97, though their stage show at that point wasn't in the same league as what they've done recently: they were pre-robot masks and it was all in the dark.

The thing is, Daft Punk don't seem like the kind of act which would beg to play Glastonbury, they would probably need some convincing.

The Eavises probably try to convince the megastars first and then failing that ask smaller acts which would jump at the chance. I'm not sure they would put a lot of effort into trying to convince a smaller act.

As much as I would love to see daft punk anywhere at glasto, it will not happen!

At a festivals Q&A session a few months back - I asked there agent about them playing Glastonbury - he said they won't play as Glastonbury makes bands sign up to permission of TV coverage and daft punk won't have themselves being recorded (officially) at gigs!

Sorry to p*ss on your fire guys! X

The difference is, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen are global superstars. This is the first time i've evern heard of 'Daft Punk'.

I don't think the Pyramid headline slot should be a chance for someone to make a name for themselves. I think it should be a slot for a band who have already made a name for themselves as a reward.

the first time you've ever heard off Daft Punk? :P

whether they are Pyramid headling material, i don't know, but in the world of dance music, they are about as big and influential as it gets. making a name for themselves, as you put it, has already happened. they couldn't be more mainstream. Orbital, Chems, even the Prodigy at their peak are the only other outfits capable of pulling the crowds like they do.
