V better than Glastonbury

I have actually been to Glastonbury albeit 10 years ago, and compared to V, I still think V is the better festival.

Many of the acts from Glasto are at V too, plus I think the headliners at V are better. This year Oasis / The Killers vs Neil Young, Springsteen,Blur. Last year I thought jay-z was an awful booking.

Another reason I cited V as better than Glasto is the sheer size of the site (especially when covered in mud). At V everything is close to the camping areas and you can get to the arena within 10 mins no matter which camp your in. Also the crowd at Pyramid stage is a lot bigger than main stage at V, so its harder to get close up to the front for bands you really want to see.

The whole size of the arena at V (which contains all the stages, stalls and fairground) is probably smaller than the Pyramid area of Glasto. Glasto then has about another 11 stages not forgetting the other area's of the festival such as the Circus area and Trash City. It's party in the park versus the Daddy of all festivals.

can you not go to v if you go to glastonbury? can you only go to 1 festival a year? I never went to glastonbury this year due to the wife gave birth to out daughter last thursday

In my opinion glastonbury is the best festival ive ever been to and nothing will change my mind, but that doesnt stop me going to festivlas like v, leeds, t, latitude, download, sonisphere. Im even thinking of doing global gathering just for experiening a dance festival and amtes have been badgering me for years to go to a dance festival.

I personally go to v as its 15mins up the road.

so redmad what ur saying is if people think glastonbury is better than v, they shouldnt go to v? if you notice the threads and comments about glastonbury and v, its the people that start saying v is better than glastonbury not the people coming here gloating glastonbury is better than v.

The only festival I avoid with a barge poll is reading, but thats because in my opinion the "this could kick of here" atmosphere there.

i have probably been to about 7 or 8 festivals.....reading, leeds and V (stafford) and i have to say they were all good atmospheres!

i didn't feel in danger or threatened (not as bad as walking down st mary's street in cardiff on a saturday night!).

I know watching on the tv can't compare with being there, but from what I have seen, I have decided that I made the right choice choosing V over Glasto.

Anyone else think the same?

I have been to V & Leeds and had a top time for a number of years at both, But nothing comes close to Glastonbury, It is on a different planet compared to all the others. I can honestly say i dont think i will ever do V again, Maybe Leeds but that is only because i live there....Roll on Glasto 2010 :D:D:rolleyes::rolleyes:

    • Skylink is 24 hours... But the skylink will drop you off at Pegasus business Park or EMA (East Midlands Airport) where you'll have to use the Download shuttle link, which isn't 24 hours. The last shuttle from the Download transport hub to EMA is 12:15 TrentBarton / Local bus info here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/download2026   Skylink Derby / Leicester / Loughborough timetable here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/services/skylinkderby  Shuttle timetable here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/userfiles/hotel.pdf If you miss the shuttle, which is very doubtful, you'll just have to find another way to EMA / Pegasus business park, maybe a taxi. You could even walk to EMA from the Download transport hub, wouldn't take too long. Just make sure you use the airport's 'circular path' instead of the dangerous roads.  I walk the circular path often, it's nice and easy. I would post instructions but I very much doubt you'll miss the shuttle, and if you do, it isn't hard to work out. The footpath is clearly signposted from directly opposite / across the road from where the download map has labelled "Pickup and Drop Off Exit."
    • So for Harry Styles it was actually a plastic bag that basically blocks the view of the front and back cameras. You can still use the phone screen. It's much easier than using lockers, especially for people leaving for the last train etc    I think it's basically reliant on the threat of security kicking you out if you start filming.
    • Hey, does anybody have a joining link for the WhatsApp group plz? I know the secret sets get posted there but have a new phone and number
    • Do you think they'll release today's cupra pulse lineup?
    • I had a great time yesterday and came to the conclusion that everytime (or, more accurately, both times) I didn't have a great time at Primavera, it was water-related. Either there was too much of it (Thursday 2026) or there wasn't enough (Thursday 2022, week 1).
