During the Dreadzone set when they started up "Little Britain" I had goosebumps on my goosebumps and just thought to myself, this is why I love this festival!! Fot a wee lump in ma throat and a wee few tears in my eyes!!

When the crowd carried on singing Tender at the end of the song, I still get shivers thinking about it and a wee bit teary when I watch it back on the telly!!

Oh my god, I can't believe this particular post was the last one on this thread before I 'resurrected' it!

I'd forgotten about Two Little Boys until someone mentioned it at the tents before we went to watch Rolf & I felt teary at the thought of hearing it. When he actually played it, tears were streaming, nay, pouring down my face. I was a tad embaressed but there was no way I could listen to that song with a dry eye.

2007- listening to Billy Bragg sing Tank Park Salute in the Leftfield. I was already a bit emotional after hearing all about the Jail Guitar Doors project and Tank Park Salute topped it off for me. I cried again when he played it last year too (but I was also suffering from food poisoning as well)

2008- when Edwyn Collins took to the stage in The Park and launched into straight into one of my favourite songs, not just of his but ever, Falling and Laughing. And during Neil Diamond, in the lead up to the first chorus in Sweet Caroline- the sun was shining, I was with my boyfriend and friend, there were 40,000 singing along and waiting for the 'Sweet Caroline- DUH DUH DUH' which was just magic and far too emotional for me.

2009- all the way through Two Little Boys. Every freaking time that I listen to this song. I didn't care who saw me though.

Blub moment: Forgetting that Crosby Stills & Nash still had 'Teach Your Children' available for their long encore - quite unable to sing along to it without welling up happily.

Scary to think that it was a last minute change of heart for me to be there at all, i'd fully intended to go watch the Prodigy but chose Blur mainly cos thats where my crowd were heading. So so glad that i did as that set now rates as easily my favourite festival set ever, just a very very special moment from start to finish

Blur almost got me - I was entirely ready to be a complete mess, but managed somehow to hold it at the welling-up point... I think the combination of practically neat vodka and having ace people around me helped me just have the time of my life rather than be a complete blubbering wreck. When Damon lost it I did have my head in my arms on the barrier for a couple of minutes though... just needed to <ahem> compose myself for a second

As far as 2008 goes, it was Joan Baez. Once again, last artist of the fest and a couple of her songs have particular meaning for me. I was doing quite well, and thought the sly smoke might help... ten minutes later the tears were running down my face

Edited to say that however much I held it together for Blur at Glasto, I haven't been quite so successful watching the set since returning

Hi, This was my first Glastonbury and although I did not cry, I felt very close to it after seeing neil Youngs set. I thought he was amazing. Also when I went to the stone circle and looked across the site I said to my mate that I can not beleive how big it is and that we are actually here I got abit choked. I had a fantastic time and hope to be there next year and for as long as I can. Thank you to all of you who made my festival.

Ah this thread has made me a bit teary reading all the stories! I tend to cry more at actual gigs as less ehhm inebriated! but at glasto..

Fun Lovin Criminals 1999 - playing a cover of we have all the time in the world - my first glasto and the sun was setting as they played this on the pyramid. was with a new friend who was fast becoming a great friend and we finished a plastic bottle of red wine mixed with squash and malibu (bleurrgh!) and had a little cry at the beauty of the moment

Tori Amos 2005 - hadnt listened to Tori in a long time but used to be a huge fan, she launched into Crucify in the acoustic tent and I lost it completely! friendly smiles from all around me who understood!

had moments of welling eyes throughout this year, seeing lots of people dance to thriller after hearing the news (not really a big fan, just felt very sad that his life got so weird and lonely and that so many people would be devastated), rolf - two little boys, seeing how much my friend loved Lamb, crosby stills and nash singing Ruby Tuesday.. ah the memories!

am i right in thinking that John Peel was blinking at us from that backdrop or did i imagine that?

Only ever seen them perform Spaceface once before (at Glasto 2005) and to finish on Here It Comes followed by There Goes The Fear and then Spaceface was just the perfect finish to the set.

Unfortunately no tears in 2009.

I enjoy a good weep when a really powerful song touches me. The closest this year was probably CSN and 'Teach Your Children' which had also been played earlier this year at the funeral of an old friend.

Last year it was Joan Baez on the Acoustic Stage doing 'There But for Fortune' when I wept buckets. A big guy next to me put his arm around my shoulders and asked 'You alright mate?' I said 'Yes, fine. It's just beautiful.'

Previous years have included Brian Wilson's 'God Only Knows.'
