Even better I say, get all the rolfers in one place, close to the Brothers bar. What more could we want

Always had a feeling this would be the likely stage...to me it makes sense. Not sure why, just does.

Nope, it's true. Which is why this is a riduculous idea.

I've ranted elsewhere about them booking acts and putting them on stages/times which can't accommodate the crowds. They just don't learn

nope, its wrong!!

i acknowlegde that its a difficult thing to measure but not a hope in hell that he has attracted the 'biggest' audience

that honour will fall to one of the many pyramid headliners over the last 20 years, or one of the legend spots

i do agree tho that it is stupid to have him on the jazzworld - 93, sunday moring, pyramid was one of the most bizarre/brilliant glasto moments ever!!

Rolf needs to be on the biggest capacity stage early on in the afternoon, so that everyone who wants to can enjoy him in comfort without fear of clashes.

Was there somebody more important on at 2pm on the pyramid who just couldn't be moved?

As a Glasto newbie, I'm not sure about the Jazzworld limits. Is it an outdoor stage? and is there a maximum capacity, if so, do you think everyone who wants to see him will be able too? My girlfriend is really hyped about it!

Yeah he did - it was unbelievable in there, nearly as bad as the Madness '07 LV crowd. Remember some bloke climbing up one of the tent support struts until he was nearly in front of Rolf on the stage. Think Rolf acknoledged him as well before security talked (pulled), him down.

jazzworld is an out door stage that to the best of my knowledge (guesstimate) can hold 25000+, as long as everyone is stood up

havent seen an act there that actually drew that many but its a big stage -should pose no problems for rolfs 'act'

Hmmmm .... Rolf got the biggest numbers to any stage in 2002. And before that, he's attracted so many people to the Avalon Stage for headline or near-headline slot that it wasn't even possible to get into the field where that stage is.

So there could well be total chaos at Jazzworld - it'll depend what's on at the same time elsewhere.

If you really want to see him (christ only knows why any would) then all you need to do is get there early. For the Levs in 05 we knew there'd be a massive crowd trying to get into the field for the 2.30pm start so we got there at 1pm. Came in through the entrance leading from the theatre/cabaret fields, and got a decent place centre right of the mixing desk. Most of the crowd will be coming from the back of the field (the road leading fro the markets up to the railway track) rather than the back so that's the best way to make sure you get somewhere near the stage.

Me I'll be somewhere else on site watching something that isn't quite so zany.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
