Middle of the day mainstage bands!

Just thinking of some good mainstage bands who could get everybody going:

Here's some I'd like -

NoFX bout 4ish - They were great early in the day in 2005 - laughing in the sun

Hold Steady 2-4 - middle main stage - bright and sunny rock n roll

Against Me! early main stage - Would like to see how they would do on a bigger stage

Jurassic 5 - Think they are just a studio group now but they'd be ace

They may be slightly too big but i would like to see superfurry animals and supergrass play greatest hit sets.

just listening to the doves new album and i think they would be a great mid afternoon band. i'd forgotten how good they are!

Doves are too popular, if they were on the bill it would almost certainly be 3rd headliners. If they are on the bill it will be as nme tent headliners.

doves are amazing!!!

not sure that loads of people are hugely into them though. they seem to be a band that goes steadily about their business without too much attention from anyone.

think it is a possibility that they could play on the nme stage (very high) or medium down on the main stage.

i have my fingers crossed for them though. i haven't seen them since they supported oasis at wembley in about 2000.

Jurassic 5 sadly split up a couple of years back

They were absolutely fantastic in 2004. A real highlight.

Reel Big Fish early on main would be nice

A fair few replies and no mention of Less Than Jake? Shame on you guys! Awesome middle of the day band, was gutted that they stuck them in the tent last year.

Doves are gonna fit that sunny afternoon bit perfectly in the absence of Elbow who we know are doing "V" (Gutted!)

Hold Steady could work but would be delighted for Fleet Foxes or The Acorn to do a Sunny Spot

Agreed Weezer would be AMAZING as well, can see them higher up though to be honest, or tent headliner.
