New Announcement, 9am Today

So I really hope that they announce quite a few bands this morning and that we are not left underwhelmed... I'm expecting NIN and Alice In Chains to be confirmed hopefully ( ) but I'm also hoping for some surprises.

With no "choice" so to speak at Sonisphere then the line up really does have to be pretty damn good!

Still no NIN though Alice are now confirmed.. so a mixture of and

I kinda expected the Sword as they are doing so much touring with Metallica, and we all kinda knew about Machine Head.. But I hadn't really thought about Avenged Sevenfold.

f**king rubbish announcement IMHO, if thats the best they can do for the second announcement - I am concerned. ticket sales will not be helped by that at all.

don't get me wrong I will definitely be watching Lizzy, they have some f**king incredible songs, but it just won't feel right at all. Isn't there like one original member left now? if that?

I look at it differently. Bearing in mind there are no clashes, I want there to be a popular band high up that I'll avoid like the plague, but most others won't. There won't be enough time to get food/drink/rest between bands you actually want to see.

Still reckon NIN are playing, and holding out some hope for Tenacious D. All in all the lineup's still none too shabby.

It seems strange to make two announcements so close together. It looks like all today's new bands are ones who would have been personally chosen by Metallica, so perhaps these will all play Metallica's day and Wednesday's announcement will be more Linkin Park related bands. Which as a non-Linkin Park fan I'm strangely more excited about...I'm hoping for NIN like everyone else, and Chris Cornell has a new album out soon, and supported them last year in the US, so he must be under consideration.
