cartonio
hi, this will be my first glastonbury and i was wondering how the gigs are going to collide. i mean, for exemple, given that maybe springsteen and franz ferdinand are both gonna headline on sat night (pyramid and other stage), at what time are they gonna play? do i have to choose or can i get both of them? thank you, antonio
DaveMac
Hi Antonio, nothing has been officially announced yet so everything is speculation really. At sometime nearer the date there will be a proper announcement and it will be clear who is on and when. Keeping checking these forums for up to date information - best source of Glasto Festival info. Efestivals has put up a special Glastonbury rumours and lineups page : http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/glas...09/lineup.shtml Hope this helps you ... ivan
The Pyramid and Other Stage headliners will clash, yes. We probably won't know the exact times until the week of the festival.
tarff26
whatever you do mate leave yourself plenty of time getting from one stage to another it may only be a 10 minute walk during the day but when you've got 30,000 like-minded folk going the same direction (and another 20,000 coming the other way) it can take time
ivan
A bit of advice If it comes to a clash , go on the "Chances of " Chances of seeing Bruce Springsteen again or Franz again , you would go with Bruce. This is not fail safe tho ! Years back I had to chose between The Verve and James Brown. Now Mr Brown was getting on in years , and I thought The Verve would be around for a bit so I chose James Brown. Fast forward a year , and the news was James Brown announces another UK Tour , The Verve split up !

ivan
I think that is absolutely spot on advice actually. Glastonbury is about discovering new acts too, so don't be afraid to opt for the less obvious choice. For instance, I chose Bjork over the Arctics in 2007. Why? Well there's a really good chance I'll see the Arctics again at some point - either at a festival, or at one of their own gigs. But Bjork? I'm never going to fork out to see her at her own gig, and who knows when she'll next play a festival I attend.

whisty
Don't get obsessed with trying to see everybody on your wsh list. A constant theme in threads is to just walk round and take it as it comes. I picked 4 must see bands last year and just stumbled for the rest of the festival & had just as good a time if not better than my first year when trying to cram everything in to a timetable. Chill on Brothers cider or whatever bag takes your fancy & enjoy

Neville Street
i second this. i usually have no more than 2 bands per day that i will make utmost effort to see, everything else i take as it comes. it's bloody stressful otherwise. makes me so sad to hear people plotting out the following day with military precision. the joy is being random about what you see.
