when is the announcement 2day?

I can't see us getting any really good info today. I think someone said on here that headliners certainly won't be announced for a good few weeks.

There's been plenty of speculation as to when the line-up will be announced. Any of the gurus have the line on this?

I was also lead to believe it was out today, I'm gutted that I'm an idiot for getting my hopes up arggghhhh. Come on M.E sort something out .. you can't tell us that it will be announced on a certain day then with no explanation change the day. ... mind you .. the day has only just begun lol we might hear something later ( Doubt it though lol )

I dont think anyone definitely said it would be today, it was just speculation.

As neil (mr efstivals) has already said, the springsteen announcement will probably be made after the other UK dates are announced - which is expected to be sometime in the next week. A few days at least will be given to help sell those UK dates before Springsteen is announced at glasto.

I, and anyone for that matter, expect Eavis to want to announce the headliners at the same time. If it is Blur and Neil Young, there is no reason to delay them being announced, so its on Bruce and the 4th headliner given a chance to sell their other dates.

So basically....next monday at a minimum.

Anyone disagree with that analysis?

Well, Bruce usually sells out his dates in a day or two, so will probably be at least three or four days after tickets for his UK tour go on sale - I think last year they went on sale on a Friday, so next Monday at the earliest for a Glasto announcement?

To be honest, Bruce Springsteen etc will kinda dictate when the bill is announced because they need to be able to sell virtually all tickets from their own summer tours.

i dont think its fair really, cus weve all paid for our tickets (i assume) so we deserve to have some sort of announcement,

i still think it was a bit crap that they didnt announce anything before the presale ended, esscentially forcing you to either buy a ticket and hope for the best, or risk not getting one at all

In previous years there was never any announcements until mid to late May, and full bill rarely came out until mid June.

So any announcement, whenever it is in the next month or so, is a darn sight earlier.

Thing about Glasto is it is the whole event as opposed to just the headliners.

Seeing as 90% of Glasto tickets are already sold, will it really effect Springsteens UK ticket sales if he was announced for Glasto before his tour goes on sale? I don't get it. I know Neil said that the Eavis's are waiting till after Springsteens tour goes on sale to keep the promoters happy, but.......... oh I don't know, IM SO IMPATIENT!!!! I want an announcement now!

To me Glastonbury is all about the experience, not just about four 'BIG' names

Who cares about announcements, we know Doves are playing, anything else is a bonus really when added on to all the other attractions which go on at Glasto..

Cmon we know it will be great who ever headlines it!!!!!
