tom.a7x
To be honest i would'nt trust Daily Star, they no nothing more than we do and have probably just seen those names floating around, even though theres probably a good chance there right. deegs
Ian Brown will play another day on NME I would guss (though I have been for years) I think Kaiser Chief will second headliner below Arctic Monkeys.
eFestivals
that article has been sourced with sort-of reliable info (it's much what I've heard, tho a while ago now), but from things I've heard bits of it are out of date. eFestivals
So Neil has there been no new info to say yeah or nah to Green Day or to suggest other possibilities? I know you would put them on the rumours page if there had been but I just thought I would ask. will hopefully have more news sometime this week. flossy_
whoever suggested Radiohead for Latitude.. that would be amazing, but isn't that pretty unlikely? i mean, aren't they almost TOO big to play that festival? Looking at the size of previous headliners, i think it's very unlikely. However, I think they would fit very nicely into that festival..hmm, we can dream. i didnt know they were a rumour for T though, how long has that been circulating for? thomasowen
would of thought theres more chance of kol playing below green day to be honest.
VCK
To the people saying this is a weak set of headliners, it's stronger than past years, such as: 2006 - Arctics are bigger than Franz were in '06, KOL are probably at the same height of fame as Muse - Headlined Glasto, played arenas, 2nd headlined prior to headlining Reading, Green Day are obviously bigger than Pearl Jam. 2004 - Arctics bigger than The Darkness, KOL bigger than White Stripes, Green Day currently bigger than they were when they headlined in 2004. 2002 - Arctics about as big as The Strokes, Foos in 2002 weren't yet the stadium-conquering giants they are today whereas KOL are well on their way, Green Day obviously aren't considered more legendary than GNR but certainly bigger than The Prodigy. eFestivals
but Green Day are not headlining from what I've heard. It's clear from what the Daily Star printed that their info is quite old, so I guess that's why they think GD are a headliner. I could of course be wrong about GD, but I'll be very surprised if I am. Role Model
I'd have no problem with no Green Day if it meant Radiohead were back in the frame, however unlikely that now seems....
gazza_20
If lostprophets are shifted up one which i cant see it'd be bad as download had to do that. Iron Maiden - Would they have a reason to Muse - Can't see it, getting ready to record and time off. Faithless - defo more V Radiohead - The much wanted one that i can't see happening Green day - Would make sense for the USA 1st and nothing is concrete on a july tour isit? Linkin Park - Would be awesome to see and did headline download 2 years ago and would fit easily with most 2nd headliners. Pearl jam - Can't see it The Strokes - Not a sunday band and nor are the others by a mile. Franz - Not sunday and wont be after they only supporting The Cure My Chemical Romance - Not doing anything at mo Kaisers - Just like Franz and not big enough Foos - Taking a break The White Stripes - Saturday only really System Of A Down - Serj not with them at mo and they'd play 2nd Blur - Obvs not The Prodigy - Would they headline Friday IOW and still play, I can't remember it happening Blink 182 - Don't think so, not yet Stereophonics, not for this day and defo not big enough to headline reading now The Stone Roses - A lot have reported them not being good in 1996 Sound garden - Would 2nd headline? Any others i'v not mentioned who potentially could? Who's actually reaslistically possible from them. The enter shikari mamanger has basically said they're playing reading and has said arctics, kol n green day are not the headliners Is it almost dead cert for arctics and kol - cuz they on isle too V i can see kasabian and faithless headlining or coldplay in there with blur. gazza_20
You've missed the most likely in my opinion, Guns N Roses. I cant see any of those headlining the Reading Friday (not necersarily because they aren't suitible but also because some, like Iron maiden, are out for this year) but I can see some of those playing.
