glasto_mongrel_2008
Is there a comedy bit? With some stand up comedians like off of paramount comedy and stuff? Cant remember seeing one last time but wasnt really looking for one tbh.
5co77ie
There's 'Bella's Field' which includes comedy billing on many of the stages, and comedians like Bill Bailey have also played other stages around Glastonbury, plus of course Rolf Harris has confirmed himself for the Pyramid - so you could say there's comedy all over the place really. timespeedsup
There's a stage he usually plays a Sunday evening set on, which I always call the Earth,Wind and Fire stage But yeah, Bella's Field and specifically the cabaret tent is where the established acts go down. The Leftfield also usually hosts the political comedians eg Brigstocke, Mark Thomas
TalkShow Bob
Take a walk round the green filds too, sometimes (espeshally in speekers corner) youll get a few big comedians doing unnanounced sets...
glasto_mongrel_2008
I'll be on the lookout for Frankie Boyle then.
precious_lillywhite
Yep, we saw some great comedy acts last year in the Caberet/Circus fields........... it's well worth going for a wander round there if theres no music acts you want to see and just catch whoever happens to be on

Alcatraz
there's usually the well known acts listed in the programme / guide but i go each morning to check the big black boards outside the tent for the full listings. i spend half my time in the cabaret tent, the comedy is usually fantastic. eFestivals
yeah, I reckon the best way to enjoy the Cabaret Tent is to wander in, and watch stuff till a not-so-good act comes on or you feel the need to go see something else. After all, the acts only have to be good - no fame is required.

The Badger Bites Back
But also i think there should be a place for comedy................. The funniest place is the theatre field on a sunny day though, can spend hours in there rolling around............... Even if there's nothing on........... Maybe thats just me ?? Alcatraz
But now that there will be NO leftfield............. Thats right check out the thread in the Chat section................ Where will these guys and many others perform ???
beergut100
I'm hoping there will be people out there who will want to step in for the Leftfield and host the same type of debate/entertainment. I will be severely dissapointed if Glastonbury loses a political edge, even if it is just for a year or two
TalkShow Bob
I saw Tony Benn at a folk do in Sheffield recently and he looked as frail as an old church mouse! I fear that if he can't come to Glastonbury this year, we won't see him there again
beergut100
There are other areas of the site that Tony Benn can survive in... Hes not some how connected to the left fild tent and allergic to the rest of the site...
TalkShow Bob
I didn't mean to imply that, though I can now see that it reads that way. I just meant to say that I hope he will be accommodated in some way.
