Veggie food?

Last year was my first visit and being a vege i was a bit concerned about the vege food situation and the general hygene. The vege food on offer was very good,a bit pricy but thats the norm for any festival. Hygene was from what i saw acceptable on most stalls, i did see a few that left a bit to be desired, but on the whole it was all ok. Don't buy down by the main stage areas, take a trip away and you get much better food at a slightly cheaper price. I'm going again next year, and while i will buy 75% of my food there i will still take some packet stuff, pasta ect just to cook up myself :P

I'm 100% strict vegetarian and I have never found it a problem finding decent veggie food at Glasto.

The only problem I do have is deciding where to eat and how I'm going to shift that excess 5 -6lbs that I always seem to gain at Glasto.

Manic Organic do a mean veggie breakfast, green futures do the nicest pakora. The garlic kitchen is a haven for garlic loving veggies (such as my self) ohh I can taste the garlic mushrooms :P

I find that a nice veggie oggie warms you up on those chilly Glasto nights as well.

Honestly, the range of veggie foods is staggering! I don't bother bringing food with me anymore!

Trust me, you won't go hungry!!

Hi all, I'm not veggie but like MikeB & Katster & others have said, the veggie food @ Glasto is excellent.

I love my "Full Monty" cooked breakfast at a Festival and try to get a good breakfast each day to set me up.

This year was no exception, although I did find a veggie only place in The Greenfields which had the most delicious breakfast that I would recommend. Will be trying to get back there again.

Also in that vicinity are 2 excellent veggie eateries I would recommend.

Walking up to the Greenfields with Jazzworld behind you there is:

1) Soup & a roll (baguette actually) - Perfect in the afternoon if you've already had breakfast and also quite cheap.

Small hut /Van, located on the main drag on the left just before you hit the crossroads before Crossieunt Neuf (I Think).

I had a delicious bowl of Carrot & Coriander with Granary bread. My Bruv had some potato & bean concoction.

Both servings were substantial and filled us up nicely.

2) PIZZA! Not only fantastic pizza but excellent as a veggie/vegan option. I can't remember about the cheese tbh, but defo veggie only toppings. Located on a left turn (would take you to Avalon) just off the main drag walking up towards Greenfields. I can't remember their name but it is the same firm who supply their pizzas at Beautiful Days. Absolutely delicious and £5 to £6 will get you a fab veggie (I think) pizza. Even great for canivores like me!

:D

Everyone's already said it... but I have to chime in with how great the veggie food is. In fact it's the kind of stuff you dream of the rest of the year!!

My personal favourites have all been mentioned above, but they are (in no particular order):

  • Manic Organics (although I also find the breakfast too soya rich)

  • Queen Delilahs for amazing salad and veggie burgers

  • Permaculture kitchen in the copse at the bottom of Green Futures Field for amazing Comfry Pakora

  • Small World Tent for the best tea and cake

  • the kitchen run by the school in the Croissant Neuf area (can't remember the name of them??) when you are really, really hungry (massive portions, too much if you're only a little hungry)

  • Buddhafields for breakfast

  • the Pizza Oven place next to the Tiny Tea tent

  • Moonbeam cafe for salads and spuds

  • Earthheart for GREAT late night pancakes and chai

In fact... the festival should be about two weeks long otherwise you don't get to eat half the good stuff

edit: because I can't spell this morning

Cheers Faeries for Change, the big veggie list has been updated. At some stage I'll get everyone else's opinions on board and then post it all, with the main question being whether all the stalls on the list are still there.

As soon as someone points out that they've not a clue what I'm going on about, I'll dig out last year's thread!

Chiming in with everyone else - veggie food at Glasters is great.

I can highly recommend the Mexican place just over the stone bridge if you are coming from Pyramid to the Other Stage on the Dance Village side - it's on the right hand side opposite a smoothie/juice stall. It has the most humungous portions and the enchiladas are fab.

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
    • Beartooth? Or are they a bit to shouty shouty
    • May   1. Josiah and The Bonnevilles - As Is 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia’s Been Good To Me 3. The Coral - 388
