  1. Shouldn't this be in the Coldplay thread?
  2. We've all been here, surely? Tough week at work, sink a few gins, idly scroll through Marketplace on your phone, buy a festival Then wake up hungover the next day and the dread sets in
  3. 94 about 3AM in the market stalls sat for a while watching a bloke who looked like Emo Phillips slowly dry-humping a pile of blankets on a double mattress. After a while a bloke emerged from the blankets looking confused so I gave him a cigarette. I asked Emo how we was and his eyes rolled back into his head. Me and the bloke went our separate ways
  4. True. It's a shame, as up until 2019 they had excellent toilets, Andy's Loos I think. Takes the shine off a superb weekend everywhere else round the site. Have a good one at Shambala 👍
  5. I'm sure someone more in the know can provide more details. What I heard is that due to trying to cut costs last year and the subsequent horrible bogs, this year they had 2 suppliers lined up so potentially more and better - day before opening 1 of them ups their fee considerably and threatens to pull out if their not paid, which they weren't, hence fewer decent loos. Loads of urinals though, which is fine for the blokes but by the sound of things a lot of the shitters had no seats and were jammed up by Friday evening
  6. First sober festival since 94 for me. Loved it. Some amazing bands, great food, friendly people and stewards, lots of places to sit. Lovely site art. They were let down at the last minute by the toilet providers which was a shame. Bob Vylan, Flogging Molly, The Specials, Don Letts and Lowkey were the stand out performances for me but every artist I saw was on top form. Buzzing
  7. Sometimes it's just dancing. Mostly dancing
  8. I was travelling round Asia in 2003 and Rush Of Blood To The Head was being promoted everywhere, even playing on airport TVs in several countries. Great album forever intertwined with beaches and Bangkok for me
  9. I didn't. I do now. I'm never, ever googling Wendy James
  10. A rabbit, like the Cadburys Caramel one. Take it easy Mr Beaver
  11. I've listened to Korn since I watched this. It's made me want to smash stuff. I'm 47
  12. Hi Erin There's the crustybus running every 2 hours from Exeter St Davids station to site (check the BDs website for timings) and it's usually a Stagecoach double decker - if you can get the trolley on then you'll be ok. I've been impressed in the past about the size & quantity of what people can get on the bus, but obviously once it's full it's full 👍
  13. Can't remember specifics (can't remember much of anything anymore tbh) but it irritated me. Interviews, not musical content, about the issues of the day
  14. I think it's more of an issue in this era where social media dictates appearance as acceptance, it leaves little room for intelligent debate - keep scrolling, there'll be something to agree with shortly. Maiden, Pantera, Queen, Ice Cube, Sleaford Mods, Public Enemy - all artists I'll gladly listen to and pay to see live, but whose frontmen / drummers have all aired opinions I disagree with. I'm stable enough with my own opinions to not be swayed by theirs, even when it's hinted at in their lyrics. Kiedis though, he's been dropping hints about his wrongness for 30 years now
  15. The belligerent denial and supposed naivety of the organisers of Woodstock 99 is sickening. Greedy bastards.
  16. Great move by Russell after the safety car at the end there
  17. I've met him in real life, he's a lovely bloke and always has a smile to cheer you up, so it makes me happy to see him on telly. Back in your bin, Oscar x
  18. I have nothing constructive to add to this conversation, you are all doing a fantastic job. I just wanted to post on page 666. Cheers x
  19. I've booked a hotel nearby so this year's Beautiful Days will be experienced straight - my first sober since I started with Glasto in 94. Camping at Bearded Theory this year caned my back by Saturday morning, plus I want to see what it's like when I don't mask my massive social insecurity with substances. I'm finally catching up with my age! However, if it's torrential rain, then I'm getting trolleyed - no way I'm putting up with that mud 🙂
  20. I won't have my phone with me over the weekend, what time do you think the meet will be and is it at the Woodland bar? Cheers
