  1. This lineup is proper sexy. This'll be my 7th Bearded (I think) since first going in 2010 when it was headlined by The King Blues and Dreadzone, and I cannot wait to get there and unwind x
  2. Yet to be proved whether Ray Dorset is Gaz Coombes' dad and responsible for another pop travesty however
  3. Got it - In The Summertime by Mungo Jerry. Advocates drink driving and class divisions, as well as being sh*t
  4. I fear that I am well and truly broken inside, but this thread is giving me the right horn
  5. Plus a slight fluctuation in the stock market then back to worrying about not offending people
  6. Dreadzone at the Wedgewood Rooms in Pompey. Absolutely joyous and Spee was on top form. Near enough to a perfect playlist for me 😀 I've seen them consistently every year since they opened the Glastonbury Main Stage in 94 and they're always fun👍
  7. Therapy? at Concorde in Brighton was awesome. Bloody love that venue, really friendly staff and nice crowd. Support band Bokassa were varied and good fun. Therapy? brought gorgeous energy and loudness and there were (for me) some less traditional gems in the setlist. However Potato Junkie, Teethgrinder and Nowhere blew my old man socks off 👍
  8. The Levellers had a bloke come onstage who kicked himself in the face after the crowd donated enough money to a good cause. Added a nice touch to the show
  9. I would like to see this happen more often! Many moons ago I saw Prophets Of Da City play and during their set a couple of graffiti artists decorated the backdrop of the stage with a mural which they finished at the last song, which was nice. I seem to remember a skate ramp and some skateboarders on stage too - this may all have been a fever dream though, my 1990s were very misspent 🙂
  10. Saw Billy Bragg at Portsmouth Guildhall last night. I've seen him here and there since the mid 90s but for me last night's show was the best. Great setlist and I loved the stories in between. He could easily just churn out the hits after 40 years but instead the passion, anger and humour sets him apart from the rest. I don't listen to his albums that often, but I realised last night how many of his lyrics have permanent residence in my head instead of 'more important' stuff like birthdays and names :-) I liked the compilation film of his 40 year career instead of a support act, although it really hit home how much has (and sadly hasn't) changed in that time. It was also nice not being the oldest person in the crowd for change 🙂
  11. This lineup has given me the horn. Great stuff. Jane's Addiction, Dinosaur Jr and Orbital - straight in the mainline x
  12. Utah Saints and PWEI and the 229 Club in London. Utah Saints were great, poppies were incredible - the setlist was like a fever-dream for me, great fun and some tunes I've wanted to hear live for 3 decades. Nice venue too, aircon was a godsend and the staff were nice
  13. Saw them a couple of years back at Wickham without Shelley. I only know the big songs but the band sounded great and really tight
  14. In hindsight I liked the fact Magical Sounds were there, same for Convoy Cabaret. I hardly ever went in there but had done elsewhere down the years. Stamina and stimulants have changed for this old git
  15. I can't wait to see the Screen Rant Pitch Meeting for it
  16. Cheers Stevie! Need to revisit their albums, love his voice. Incidentally I spent the other half of that trailer trying to work out where in the Star Wars time-line it fits 🤣
  17. Can anyone tell me the song playing in this with Perry Farrel's vocals on?
  18. Super early birds gone by 5 past, grabbed a weekend and campervan ticket early bird though 👍 Happy Saturday x
  19. I had to bail out of the Bearded and Beautiful Days facebook groups because of the moaning - it got a bit Top Trumps for twats. I consoled myself with thinking that half the people moaning on there had probably never been to a rubbish festival so didn't appreciate how good these ones were, instead wanting the whole thing tailored to their own personal needs. And wow - don't mention chairs
  20. First & foremost - I had a great time, 16th BDs for me and the first bringing my family. Fantastic weekend. We took stools or chairs out with us to have a rest in between bands to stop my back giving in - but as soon as any bands came on we stood up and picked up chairs to either have a dance or wander off and not get in others' way if they wanted to dance. It's an unwritten rule and courteous to others and helps everyone get around and have fun. Night time = no chairs for us as it's too risky for others to fall over, but if we sat down it was on the hill or outside the big top out of the way. The fkn entitlement of some people there this year in particular was mental - sitting on blankets ten people from the stage & getting the hump when they got trodden on, leaving their chairs setup forward of the sound desk while they went off for half an hour to get food, setting up camp with wagons and tons of sh*t in the middle of the crowd so they could see the band then talking loudly until that one song they like comes on. I know, I'm getting old, and going sober for once was not a good move, but the selfishness of some people nearly got too much at times
  21. Never been before. Girlband were great, Mondays were fun, James were sublime. Great sound wherever I wandered. Friendly crowd, hardly any queues for the bored bar staff, lovely food. It's not a festival though is it, it's an outdoors gig. And I fell over a speedbump. 10/10
  22. Last year was my first time sober at BDs and enjoyed a lot of what was going on in the Rebel Tent - most years I'd wander by on the way to find music. I enjoyed the speakers I didn't necessarily agree with, maybe that's an age thing!
  23. sh*t. I loved his music and his style
