The wait goes on....!

I drank a lot of cider brandy at the bus on the Thursday night in 2005….had to be dragged back to my tent and put to bed!

Be glad you could do yours via Zoom ,in 2019 I had to re-arrange a holiday and travel to London to do mine in person! (Also for Shelter/Avalon Bars)

Its also just a representation of having reliable tech at our fingertips now...its the same with other things I go to...sometimes if things have changed at football (could be anything) usually someone will have a picture of it on Twitter pretty quickly!

I volunteered in 2019 and saw IICON in my Tuesday afternoon wander about before the gates opened. I took pics on my phone but I said to the Whatsapp Glastonbury group I'm in, I have pics of something new but can not share as I think its best you see it in person tomorrow...which they thought was best and thanked me for not sharing!

Its usually the start of June they go out I think. 🙂 I'm on a coach package this year so won't see my ticket until I'm half way to Pilton!

I happened to walk past the Other Stage en route to The Glade in 2007 when he played. Awful!

Its ridiculous...and its got worse as the years have gone on - now we've got gangs of 'lads' with bumbags round their chest wearing a football shirt from the mid-90s. Awful. 😄

ok well I'll let off medical stuff. The point they do start to annoy me is more late on in crowds when people are walking around with them or dancing with them on and they keep whacking into the person behind them (usually me 😄 )

Carrier bag for booze - put that in the bin when done then buy from the bars, toilet roll (Take pocket tissue) - phone if it runs out go to the EE charge swap thing.

A far cry from Worthy View, Posh tipis, Lovefields, Camp Kerela etc that you have these days. 😄

Pockets in shorts....why do you need anything else? Phone, wallet, (baccy if you smoke) and that's it. Micro sun cream bottle if its hot. Jumper/waterproof tied round waist. done. Its the same for the festival in general, I'm stunned with the amount of crap people seem to bring in with them. (Sorry!)

Reasonably similar, I went to Truck Festival (back when it was very tiny) in July 1999 as my first festival, then went to Reading a month later as my first big festival, by the time I'd done another four of those each and a Download, I got to Glastonbury in June 2004 and didn't feel that it was overwhelming at all...I just recall getting lost a lot as the whole thing being in one rather than arena style that I was used to confused me somewhat.

Just to see what it was like, I found the oldest webcam footage I could from Glastonbury 2000 on YouTube. OK, the quality isn't great and I know the festival site was smaller back then, but its amazing to see how late the new Pyramid structure was constructed, and how nothing of the main build appears until early June. Also once the festival opens there's still camping space in Top Webs Ash on the Thursday afternoon!

2019 I worked 3x 8 hour shifts on Stonebridge bar 2pm-10pm weds, 9pm-5am fri and 7pm-3am sun.
