  1. I'm going on the Friday night and just checking my email its cost £40 each plus booking fees
  2. I just realised I've got Liam Gallagher at Knebworth at the start of June and I'm staying over in their official campsite so will give the fresh and black an early airing!
  3. Sometimes I feel though less is more, I was in a bit of a bad place back in 2010....(won't bore you with the details), had a ticket but started going on about dropping out, thankfully I was talked out of it, but as I had not much interest in the festival that year in the build up I didn't really get involved in the anticipation and it sort of just crept up on me. Got to the festival and had the best time of any festival that I've been to, perhaps it was the good weather, or the really good mdma my mate brought with him 😄 but even England getting thrashed 4-1 didn't down my spirits...I'm still convinced to this day that some of it was because I had paid so little attention to the line up, site build etc than normal that it exceeded expectation rather than not fulfilling it because of overloading my brain with Glastonbury excitement in the month or so beforehand. Not sure if that makes sense but in my head it does. 🙂
  4. Same. I went to Arsenal v Man U on Saturday, then over to Wembley for Tyson Fury v Dillan Whyte...drank a fair bit (probably 4 pints at the football and about another 6-7 at the boxing) but also remembered to eat twice and eat again when I got home at about 12.30am. Still felt like absolute death most of Sunday though! 😞
  5. More regular use of this forum...but that's about it really right up until the weekend before when I get all my camping kit out to check over and then usually I'll watch one of the Julien Temple films perhaps on the Monday night...Tuesday night is now all about going to bed early because I'm now 40, but for a few years (and also when we didn't leave so early on the Wednesday) I used to watch 'Human Traffic' to get me into the mood. 😄
  6. jesus christ mate, at least spell it properly! Forgot the o and should have a capital L I did salsa dancing in 2019 off my mash at 1.30am....was funny!

    Glastocam!

In the area between the other stage and the Glade in the corner....was truly awful. Sound was all over the place, went to Andy C (i think) on the Friday night and were stood under the spider having a conversation with my mate with no problem at all hearing him.
  8. I think as a wider point what tends to get forgotten when booking big names for smaller stages is that no matter how much capacity GFL raise the general admission tickets by, the stages/areas don't get any bigger. And generally speaking there's only so many people you can have trying to watch the same thing before it becomes too crowded/uncomfortable, can't hear anything etc.

    Glastocam!

I just read the refusal decision reason.....
  10. Shame that the blues stage has gone that was one of the better parts of Silver Hayes!
  11. Yep. I'm 40 and I only know 9 names on that list!
  12. I suppose I'm forgetting that she was still on her debut album back then and perhaps not the person/image we know today. Me and another mate had intended to watch her Other stage performance, more out of interest than fandom, but another mate of ours who couldn't get the Friday off work rang us to say he was at Ped gate C and to come and help him with his bags and also because he was re-loading our supplies, not to leave him hanging for ages so we had to miss it then just caught some of The Specials on the Pyramid. Also someone I used to know was working on the Other stage that day and said they saw her a bit around backstage and she was rather 'well oiled' later on but how true that was I don't know, but does fit in with what went on later that night!
  13. Quite intrigued to hear how this went...was she off her tits? Was it mayhem trying to get near the tent? Or did no one at all know she was going to perform until she appeared on stage? If something similar happened this year it would be utter chaos.
  14. 2005 on the Saturday night we watched New Order sub the Pyramid, then for the life of me I can't recall which headliner we watched...I know it wasn't Coldplay but anyway....found ourselves drinking in the Leftfield tent and suddenly a load of commotion is coming around the tent and a load of people rush in and then the tent gets closed...with loads more trying to get in. We wonder what is about to happen and the compare comes on saying he's got a real treat for us and one of my mates spots Kate Moss stood 20 yards in front of us and then suddenly Pete Doherty appears and Babyshambles come out and play a set. Bear in mind this is 2005 Pete Doherty, peak tabloid interest in him and Kate Moss, drugged up to his eyeballs and having a whale of a time. Also 'secret' sets weren't so much of a thing back then so it caught a lot of people out and so most of the people who got to watch them were just people who happened to be in the tent at the time...although mobile phones were around by this point they didn't really work that well and we were still a couple of years away from smartphones so there was no Twitter posts to let everyone know. It wasn't a particularly memorable gig in itself but just the general mayhem of it was fairly interesting to see close up when we'd only just popped in for a quick late night pint before going to bed!
  15. Correct. We left the Pyramid field after De La Soul to get some food and a pint in the market area and as we were doing so the heavens opened big time....managed to run back to our tents in Hawkwell, but couldn't work out why Rudimental weren't on stage as we crossed through Kidney Mead and over the top to get to our camp. Then hid there until it was safe which also meant we had to listen to Lily Allen screech for a while until we departed to go and see Jurassic 5 at West Holts!
  16. Game changer mate, you won't regret it!
  17. When me and my mates (who I've been festivalling with since the late 90s) all had them at BoomTown in 2019, one of them got up the following day and just said 'where's that tent been for the last 20 years?!'
  18. 2007 was a lot worse than 2016.
  19. Men walking around with bumbags across their chest look like twats.
