  1. Getting excited now, it's a stellar line up for me this year and the Clash gods have been exceptionally kind. Back to back acts on Friday and Saturday from early afternoon to the last act.
  2. this was my theory for last year too, glad I'm not on my own.
  3. we left as they were murdering '505', it was really easy to get out, huge gaps to all through. Loads of people had left before we did. i thought the Friday night headliners were all a little disappointing, which is why I ended up at AM
  4. Got to disagree, Kylie was peak blankets and chair tossers, complaining that you've trod on their blanket. Took an age to get through.
  5. I remember my first few Glastonbury's seeing the same group of lads with huge tents full of beer, camped at the back of the Pyramid field. We're talking slab and slabs of beer, filling a complete tent. When I saw them in 2008 and 2009, we were some of the first tents up at the Pyramid, and they were already set up with their tent full of beer. In the years later, when we were the only one of our group to have a campervan, I used to get a campervan ticket, so I could take all of the tents in for our group. I just used the van for cold beers. Those were my favourite camping options, I miss West Campervan. Camped in South Park, 10 minutes from the van, 5 minutes from the Park. Now my group think they're too old to camp. I really miss waking up and opening the tent and viewing the magic around me. No way of getting them out of the campervan field now.

    2024 Headliners

That Kasabian performance was so much better than that so-called performance on Friday. Just terrible, really terrible!
  7. Had a great Saturday night in Avalon, decided to go for the Jake Shears - Mel C - Vintage Trouble triple bill and stayed there all evening. I think this was a factor in feeling unusually energetic on the Sunday, not sprinting between stages. I enjoyed them all immensely,Jake Shears was surprisingly quiet, I think Lizzo stole his audience, and the Mel C performance made me realise what a smash the Spice Girls would be at Glastonbury. I wouldn't be there but it would really work. Vintage Trouble were a great finish. Literally, danced all night.
  8. Gutted I missed the Risk Astley / Blossoms set, just completely forgot, as I had them down for Friday. Just seen the set this evening, looked a lot of fun. I excluded them from my list as I wasn't there, but thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought there would be someone who said this, didn't think it would be the first response
  9. Watching the Gabriels, and it made me wonder, what were the best cover versions that you heard this year at the festival? I'll start; Private Dancer - Gabriels Here comes the Sun = Cat Stevens (a real Glastonbury moment for me) Like a Prayer - Sophie Ellis-Bextor
  10. I'm with you on the Crumble Shack, my crumble topping was not good at all! Best - An Indonesian, between Woodsies and Silver Hayes Worst - everything I had was tasty, but the Crumble Shack was probably the worst
  11. 🤣🤣🤣, I didn't walk away soon enough, it was lousy

    PGC

took 45 minutes to get in from the top of the hill. From what we heard it appeared to be over zealous searching really slowing entry. Been searched so many times on re-entry over the last two years, through this gate. Never been searched on the previous 13 visits.

stood here for 20 minutes , moved 50 feet, still thousands ahead of us
  14. So, we're en route, do we know anymore? Are Glastonbury really going to put the stewards through a potentially fraught few hours trying to close off Woodside's. Experienced lots of un-Glastonbury behaviour when they did that for the Killers in 2017, couldn't see them doing that again. Surely only the Pyramid is big enough for Pulp?
  15. That was definitely me, loved the Coldplay performance, but the one etched in my memory is that performance. For those that were there (I was a little pissed when I posted and I forgot to ask my original question). What time did they come on, as my distinct memory was of the sun setting over the Pyramid, but that time of year, that's not until after 10. Were the subs on later back in the day?
  16. He really did, he was just as energetic in 2010. Sorely missed

    Faithless 2002

Just watching this on Youtube and getting myself in the mood. It was my first festival and I credit this set as changing my life. What I'd heard of Faithless on the radio I hadn't liked, I was at Glastonbury under duress, and was only near the front to get a good spot for Coldplay! But f**k me, what a performance, what a set, I was blown away. Now 20+ years later and many festivals later, I look back on that evening with amazing fondness. So my questions are; 1) Who was there? 2) Anyone had another band (that they weren't a fan of) blow them truly out of the water 3) Maxi put in an awesome performance that night, so much energy. Which artist do you think gave it there all on the Pyramid?
  18. Really! Intrigued and disgusted at the same time.
  19. This is my favourite too, but just plain vanilla. My favourite place now gives me a discount cause I'm such a regular. Favourite rums to add are Cut to the Spice and Black Magic. A lovely cold cocktail on a summer's day for the price of a pint.
  20. it really is tiny, more like a corridor. Still spent a fair few hours in there. The traffic light tasting rack was interesting.
  21. I was exactly the same, but the odd sips here and there of my wife's, as slowly brought n=me round. Some are still disgusting and I can't get into gose beers, but there are some of Vault City that I truly adore. Has a great time at their pub in Edinburgh back in January.
  22. Thanks for this, already prepped for Glastonbury, but it will start the collection for Y Not
