I suppose it depends on where you camp. Had a couple of years camping South Park, one year directly opposite the cars. Saw a very drunk Johnny Depp introducing Withnail and I. It was never rammed but it always had people around. It was only a 5 minute stroll from the Park entrance. You could say the same for the woodland area near the JP tent. Last year we were in the CV files so it was quite a trek and we didn't bother.

I'll be there for Kid Kapichi, awesome live band
-
That's a real shame. Their set at WG last year was one of my festival highlights.

That's a quality line up, interested to see what Brew York take with them
-
One of the most important line ups of the Summer, BT have knocked it out the park again!

I'm the other way round, it'll be my 15th visit to the farm, and I've never seen Texas play there. They've a decent catalogue and a couple I really like. It'll be new for me and I like that. You can keep Blondie, they do nothing but disappoint.

Can't see it myself. Why would they get up early on a Sunday and put themselves through this. And then put the ticket back in the pot a few days later. I think the term is 'clutching at straws'.

The "I'm going to Glastonbury 2023" thread
Boomtowner replied to Supernintendo Chalmers's topic in Chat
Our group didn't get the two we needed. Roll on Sunday. One of us got through straight away and checked 10-12 bus depots, nothing from anywhere in the South -
Jake Shears and Jamie Webster as I've never seen them before. Lottery Winners, Beans, Neville Staple, Holy Moly, Vintage Trouble , enjoy them all but seen them loads. Will depend on other stage announcements
-
Loads on there for me and my crowd, without anything that we must see. It tends to be our meeting spot anyway. Lottery Winners are an excellent live band and I'm sure Jake Shears will be rammed.

Some good additions, looking forward to this

All six of our group have paid, zero back in the pot.

Which Elton track are you looking forward to the most?
Boomtowner replied to kalifire's topic in Chat
I'm hoping for this era as well. Elton wasn't played by my parents, they were more Motown and Beatles fans. My first experience of Elton was the 80's one and when he owned Watford, and I wasn't impressed. It took the release of Almost Famous for me to discover his stuff from the 70's, and I'm a big fan of this. I consider most of his 80's output to be cheesy pop but I'm still a fan. -

Is Dee 23 a member of Sack Sabbath?

How was this discovered, and a first post as well.

Live gigs - Who you've seen were they good, bad etc.
Boomtowner replied to gigpusher's topic in Chat
Went to see the K's in Leeds on Friday, lots of charisma, the lad on lead guitar looked born to be on stage. Will definitely see again, but the sound for the first half of the gig was atrocious. -
Who are you looking forward to seeing that is not on the line-up poster?
Boomtowner replied to Toby Larone's topic in Chat
Saw them last year, they put on a good show. Not keen on the lead singer but the band were good fun. Didn't hear the 6 music festival performance but really enjoyed their last single release 'Struggle' -
Very happy with that, I wonder why they were missed off yesterday
-
I was hoping to get Kid Kapichi, instead we get the far inferior band that supported them on the last tour. Take your ear defenders if you go see Snayx

That wasn't what I experienced, which was a giant bunny spraying the front row by rubbing his giant penis. That definitely wasn't suitable for small children, despite a couple of them finding it hilarious! Although now I'm thinking about it, that might have been Cirque du Vulgar, who were on before Briefs
-
Seen a few of the late night "adult-orientated' shows there, as well as the day time stuff. I especially like watching the parents come running in to whisk their children away once they start. Despite numerous warnings in the interval that it is not suitable for families, I saw loads of kids at the front for the start of 'Briefs' last year. They weren't there 5 minutes into the show! It's an awesome spot and I try to visit each year. Love it.
