  1. I camped in Big ground most years but my last festival my wife was 3 months pregnant so we camped as far as I could carry our stuff which wasn't to far in, we also had to be close to a toilet but not to close for obvious reasons. The walk to everything was a bit further but we enjoyed the chilled out atmosphere of being away from the crowds. Plenty of space around the tent so didn't have to watch out for tripping over guy ropes and it was very quiet at night which we needed since we weren't drinking. We popped back to the tent one afternoon and it was silent, like we were camping in the middle of nowhere. Will be in the kids field this year and will be for the distance future but when we go back to the normal fields I think we would go to the quieter parts again. This does mean you don't have to rush to get in to get to the popular camping spots. I like the idea of having a chilled drive down and getting through the gates early afternoon on the Wednesday without having to queue to get in
  2. Thanks. Kids are 2 and 4 so no need for ID
  3. This is exactly the problem. It was 2008 and we counted 4 buses taking people to the festival site, think it is about a 20 min bus ride so you could be there quite a while, especially if a train has got there just before yours. It wasn't raining then so the wait wasn't to bad and you know you will soon be pitched up so you don't mind. On the way back you just want to be able to sit down and get home
  4. I've got there via train, car and coach and has been mentioned they all have pros and cons. My least favourite would probably be train. Having to try and get to the train station through rush hour with my gear wasn't easy, was in London. The train journey there was fine, we all had seats but then had a long wait at castle cary to get to the site. Leaving was a nightmare. It was chucking it down, queues were all over the place and was a lot of pushing to get onto the coaches to the station plus I had a killer hangover. Finally got to the station and it was a free for all getting the trains to London. They were so packed it was like being on a tube train but everyone was tired and wet and most people had to stand all the way, me included. Cars great for flexibility and taking as much as you want. Downside is someone then has to drive which isn't normally to bad getting there but coming back you could be very tired. When we've driven we've always got a hotel in Bath on the way home so its a short drive then the longer drive home on Tuesday. It did take us 10 hours to get there 1 year which wasn't great for the driver. Was the year the campervans were getting stuck so were drip feeding them in so the roads were backed up. We left at 2 but didn't get into the car park till midnight. Can be a long walk from the car to the festival as well Bus is great to just get on, get your seat and away you go. You are limited to what you can take and times though.
  5. Paid for 4/4. Just realised though we are bringing 2 kids with us and I've never seen anywhere to say if you're bringing kids. Do you just turn up with them
  6. I think there will be more tickets in the resale than ever before, a lot has happened in 2 years.
  7. Efestivals is back but the rumours page hasn't been updated in a while. Paul McCartney down for the other stage was pointed out as a mistake a while ago but he's still there
  8. I think if you have a car park sticker on your car they wave you straight in, might get the odd person asking to see your ticket as well. If you don’t have a sticker they will definitely want to see your ticket.
  9. You can but you have to show you have a ticket to get into the car park don’t you
  10. I bought some walking boots from Clark’s that were half price about 10 years ago. Use them for festivals and general walking. They are really comfortable and totally waterproof
  11. That is controversial. A lot of people, myself included haven't liked the last couple of albums as much, still good but no 'Boxer' or 'Trouble will find me'
  12. If this weather came when the festival was on would they cancel it?
  13. Seconded. Video evidence as well. The RSPCA and the police should get involved
  14. I would love this to happen as well but I can't see it. The issues with the noise and the locals being the main reason but I think also the effect it would have on the rest of the festival. Thursday is great for going round and checking everything out. If there was music on the main stage loads of people would go to it so a lot of the smaller venues that get most their visitors on Thursday would miss out.
  15. No need to bicker anymore, think Sunday says it all
  16. Thanks. We are staying in a premier inn in the centre somewhere on a Saturday and Sunday night
  17. Sorry to jump into this forum but I’m guessing a lot of people in this forum live in the Sheffield area. I’m going to Sheffield in November for a few nights with a few mates and looking for some recommendations of pubs to go to during the day. Would ideally like to finish the night in somewhere playing indie music we can sing and dance around to, any ideas?
  18. First went in 07 and have gone every year since apart from the last one which I couldn’t get tickets for. My wife was 3 months pregnant at the festival in 2017 and next year we will be coming with my 2 kids. Looking forward to it like it’s my first time there, going to be a total different festival
