    First Gig Back

Back from Hard Rock Hell Sleaze. We didn't watch much to be honest, spending more time in various pubs but saw a couple of great sets from The Spangles and The Quireboys (unexpectedly got rather emotional during the big singalong ballad), it was just fantastic to be back. Also managed to see the worst set I've ever seen at a festival. Thankfully they were only on for 30 minutes but we saw it out to the end as it was incredible just how shit it was. Back home, ears ringing, knackered, waiting for the Covid symptoms to kick in, very happy.

  3. I hated Spectre when I first saw it but watched it again fairly recently when it was on TV and it wasn't as bad as I'd remembered. Maybe it's all about expectations.

  5. I don't want to appear harsh, but that’s one ugly fucking baby. Enjoy your weekend.
  6. A fair point. Especially since I changes jobs back in November 2019 and I can't access the Thingy via my new work's lap top. I have to fire up an old one that belonged to one of my kids to make updates. The Weebly phone app is almost unusable.
  7. I think I quite fancy the idea of this, makes for loads of speculation before the announcements and then seeing how right or wrong the eFests hive mind has been with its guesses. Dare I say it, whacking out announcements early isn't as much fun.
  8. I've got in in my head they were going to play The Other but I don't know where that came from and I can't find anything on it. Also no idea why it didn't happen. This is the eFests article: Undertones & Outkast for Glastonbury 2005 - DEFINITELY! - eFestivals.co.uk

  14. Their Glastonbury set is my favourite gig ever. The atmosphere had been building all day, I think I saw three acts do a Stones cover. Including Urban Voodoo Machine who were playing Avalon while Primal Scream were on The Pyramid. As I was making my way from Avalon, Seasick Steve came out of West Holts backstage area and started hot footing it towards the Pyramid. The speed he was going should have been a giveaway he was lying about his age. Getting into the front circle after Primal Scream finished was like being in crowds years ago, you could almost lift your feet up and just go with it. What a night. I was a little trepidatious as the previous time I'd seen them was a little flat. I think it was more to do with the audience around me to be honest, Manc Arena in 2004 but I needn't have worried. Chatting to the people around me for the very lengthy change over, I made the greatest of friends only to never have seen them since we parted with a handshake at the end of the set. A near perfect set list, Mick Taylor getting a guest spot (Midnight Rambler being my personal highlight), the crowd, fucking hell, the crowd were so up for it... just perfect from start to finish. So RIP Charlie. Always came across as an absolute gentleman, what a legacy to leave behind. The bedrock of many of the greatest songs ever recorded. tldr: "Charlie's good tonight, in'ee?"
  15. I might be taking my youngest next year, if we can get him a ticket. He'll be the perfect age to start, having taken his A Levels a month earlier. The rule was always "you can come when you're old enough to carry and drink your own beer".
  16. Hello Adam What publication is it for? I might not have any funny stories but I do have standards. Thanks

You'll be pleased to know that LA Guns have a Ratt like scenario whereby there are 2 versions of the band, one of which is led by a drummer who wasn't even part of the original band. At least people have heard of Blotzer I say people....

    First Gig Back

This Saturday I'm off to my first non socially distanced gig, Hard Rock Hell Sleaze, a 2 dayer in Sheffield. All the 'big' overseas names have dropped out due to Covid and have been replaced by UK acts no-one has heard of. Luckily we only paid £12.50 a ticket, otherwise I wouldn't be happy. I know this means very little to almost everyone here (other than an opportunity to take the piss) but it's gone from this... To this... Fucking Tigertailz 😬😁 Not a Blotzer in sight. I have though discovered The Spangles who I'm very much looking forward to seeing.
