Hogan has never been known for his stellar ring work, but he does have ring pyschology and we all know charisma. Anyway, theres gunna be very few matches from Hogan I expect.

Earlier in the year when Foley had the title I think he wrestled at PPVs only and they weren't all one on one matches. I expect Hogan to be in the same boat IF he ever does win the title and IMO he should win the strap

New Hogan interview

SLAM! has an interview up with Hulk Hogan. Highlights are below.

On January 4th: " Jan. 4, we're going head to head with WWE. We've got to pick a fight. I don't know what's going to happen that night. If we get bodyslammed by WWE, we'll get back and go at them again."

On the role of writers: "What we have now is the writers telling the wrestlers what to say and do. I'm coming in to push the writers aside. Sure, they still have to make it flow and block time. If the wrestlers need a writer to tell them what to do, they can pack their bags and go north to WWE.. Writers don't have a feel and instinct for the business. They've never been in the ring. If I can't make it work, I'll pack my bags and leave."

On bringing characters to life: "I want to make the characters come alive. Characters like Andre the Giant and Rowdy Roddy Piper were larger than life. That's what I want. TNA is doing a lot of things right. They have a lot of great talent. But there are a lot of major WWE stars burning my phone up, asking if they can work for TNA when their contracts are up."

On him wrestling: "Right now there are no plans to put the yellow boots on, but sometimes the fans will box you in ... they could start yelling Hogan vs. Sting ... and then maybe we have to do something about it. Contractually it's not part of the plan, but it's still there. When I start Hulking up, the places are on fire."

On wrestlers that made a difference: "Gorgeous George was the bearer of excellence. Andre the Giant is there, too. The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin, for a shorter time they made an impression."

I have a strange feeling there will be another sh*te NWO type of stable that comes out of Hogan's debut.

I seriously don't think TNA have that much left in them, I guess the night they go up against WWE will be a decider.

I don't think thats a strange feeling FF, I think thats what everybody is expecting and what TNA have definatly been trying to make the viewers think. If this whole stable actually happens though, im not so sure. Ive heard rumours that they're gunna do a whole people working for Hogan against people working for Foley angle. Which to be honest, sounds shit.

They have a big name like Hogan, who is going to be very limited in the ring, so how is the best way to use him as an on air character, I tell you what, im having trouble thinking how myself.

And no the night they go up against WWE won't be a decider, because everybody should know TNA won't get anywhere near the rating WWE will get, especially on just one night, it would take two years which is rumoured what Spike is going to give TNA, a 2 year shot at Monday Nights, Im sure whatever Spike is showing now wouldn't be getting that much more of a rating than what TNA would get on Monday, and I don't think TNA would die from moving the night its on.

I don't know why everybody is writing off TNA as a company. As long as money is there and they have a tv deal, it will exist

Because after 7 1/2 years, they still produce a product which is generally shit. They havent learnt anything.

You can go on about the house shows, and the amazing matches that apparently happen. But at the end of the day, Raw, and Smackdown, despite being staler than last months Tesco bargain basement bread, are still better TV programmes week in week out. Fans, especially older ones, have been crying out for something different for years. Has TNA given them that? No. What does it give us? It gives a bunch of five minute matches, nonsensical segments with characters and wrestlers which are either past it, never weres, or f**ked up thanks to the booking.

TNA wont get destroyed on Jan 4th. But there rating will be lower than Impact normally is.

I'll be interested to see what happens but I can't imagine it's going to be as mind blowing s TNA expect. I hope it does start a new Monday night war because I'm sick of WWE but I doubt much will change.

Exactly WWE has been very stale for a very long time and the only way it will improve is with steady competition. I do hope TNA does do it, but with Hogan now in charge i can't really see it lasting for much longer.

On a unrelated note does anyone know of stream too watch the pay per view tonight? Not buying it tonight such a thing money and not having enough of it!

I cant comment on him as a person. He knows the right people to hang around with thats for sure.

I wish him the best as champion but I cant help but think its too much too soon and he's going to be categorised as a failure before he's even had chance. Let be honest, he hasnt "beaten" anyone. He put Cena through a table, thats not a really a win. The build was too short and everyone knows the belt will be back on Cena either at Royal Rumble or before.

Wrestlemania is three months away and thats not enough time to build Sheamus up as a genuine killer main event talent. One of the best pushes I ever saw was Big Van Vaders push in WCW in 91. That man was pushed as a killer over a number of months before he won the title from Sting. Who has Sheamus beat up? Santino? I cant even remember who he was feuding with before Cena. They shouldve done the same with Sheamus. He should have killed people. And he shouldnt have had some generic rock song as his entrance. Its ridiculous.

I'm pleased someone else has the title. However, its the wrong guy (although did they have any other options?) and i think in the long run its going to harm him rather than help him.
