I still reckon they'll be at Reading/Leeds even if they do Glasto, cos they'll want a big pay-cheque from someone. Reforms are *ALWAYS* about the money.

Best guess (and it is just a guess) at the moment for the Sunday is REM.

Havent coldplay got a Album coming out soon ? Maybe they are a good shout ?

I'm hearing that they want to do the new album at Glastonbury in 2009 and not 2008.

Id be shocked though if Verve play, they arent anywhere near big enough to headline.

If Basement Jaxx. Arctic Monkeys, Killers, can headline the festival then the Verve can easily take the top spot.

Basement Jaxx were only headliners because Kylie was ill. The Killers were only headliners because Muse couldn't do it.

Similarly, I'm of the opinion that if The Verve turn out to be one of the headliners, they won't be the Festival's first choice either. I reckon that Kylie and Radiohead were above them on GFs want list.

Aye I know they were not first choice, but at the end of the day they still headlined the festival as GF thought they were adequate replacements and worthy to headline IMO the biggest festival music headline spot you can get in the world.

If they got that decision right is another matter :)

One mans love is another mans nightmare as they say :) (Or womans)

This is what the whole Glasto thing comes down to in the end.

I'm interested who headlines/appears on the big stages, and will get along to see a few of the bigger acts, but it's the overall vibe that counts most. And I'm as likely/more likely to be checking out some small stage (or, in 2008, working a shift) as going anywhere near the Pyramid.

I'll be sorry if/when Radiohead don't make it, but it doesn't really matter ....

Think it's a shame that Kylie won't be playing at Glastonbury 2008. As I was looking forward to seeing her play in 2005. Then that got cancelled due to her health. Then she couldn't play this year. Nor next year either. Oh well. Hopefully 2009!

Couldn't really care less who's on the lineup though. I goto Glastonbury because it's Glastonbury!

    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
    • Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
