My early ‘prediction’ for the logo slots. spacer.png

That top 3 Friday would be great if it wasn't Deftones above them, I don't think Deftones would play above them either. HIM returning would be great, didn't go see Ville Valli on tour which is now a regret and he clashed with Evanescence in 2023 which was a bloody hard choice! I'm fairly sure after the announcement that Good Charlotte would either sub or they'll be that big second stage headliner. It'll be telling if they sell tickets quicker than Shikari.

Good Charlotte and Blink though and then AFI into Slipknot would be decent.

Deftones would 100% headline over Evanescence.

Without question.

HIM would get a big slot if they came back for sure. They’re in Primark now 😂

It’s mental seeing those band shirts in Primark 😂

Seen some legitimate surprises in there too. President, death cab for cutie, Don broco…

funnily enough, I’m surprised deftones haven’t ended up in there yet.

Its not they wouldn't headline over, that wasn't my point. It was Deftones I doubt would be the headliner above Evanescence subbing.

Ahhhh. I see.
I think it’s possible either way. Evanescence did sub iron maiden in 2007.

They did but Iron Maiden are a completely different band to Deftones. Take 2010, Deftones had RATM above and Megadeth below, just don't different bands. I know it's subjective but where some do some don't, who I know who like Deftones and love RATM wouldn't care if they missed Evanescence, they wouldn't be the name they go for.

Deftones were originally booked to sub Kiss in 2020, and ended up subbing Maiden in 22. I don’t think Evanescence subbing them is any stranger than that. I was going for early 00’s Kerrang vibes for the Friday main.

And deftones were subbing Biffy clyro in 21 which was then cancelled due to Covid, and that spot ended up going to Korn in 22, under Biffy.

There’s no doubt been some interesting subs over the years for sure.

I think evanescence under deftones is fine. It isn’t my bag but if nothing better was on, I’d go.

Speaking of that in 2021, ADTR switching with Deftones would have made more sense.

PTV are too big to be third down

Turnstile will probably hold out till they are headliners as that seems inevitable, if they play the festival at all

Saw Knocked Loose at Slam Dunk at weekend and Wow they have everything to be a big festival headliner

Crowd work, Energy etc.

I really hope their next album elevates them even more as I feel the big festival headliner pool is missing a heavy band as the current ones aren't getting any younger

I have been following developments related to Hellfest. It is their 20th anniversary next year and they skipped the warm up tour this year to save for something big to celebrate.

That said I think Download could definitiely utilise some of Hellfest's rumoured headliners.

I think (and this is purely speculation) but we will get Slayer and `Gojira for Hellfest. Gojira are 80% confirmed by the Hellfest owner who didn't get them this year so they can play next year.

Apart from these, the other big bands that could tour I think are SOAD, Blink, Deftones, Sliplknot, Motley, Nightwish, Journey, maybe Bon Jovi?

Outside of festivals Europe may get AC/DC (last time?), Rolling Stones (if health stacks up as they were supposed to tour this year). It would be enormous for HF to get any of these ones but who knows. AC/DC have been on their radard for a LONG time.

What do you think?

Would Slayer & Gojira both headline Hellfest? I think Deftones & Slipknot will be in Europe again.

Yeah, they surely both will.

SOAD are going to hit the early summer fests like Hellfest, RaR & DL, I tells ya.

Hellfest have tried to get MCR for the last couple of years, so I wouldn't be surprised if it is Slayer, System, Gojira and MCR for next year at Hellfest.

I can see Download as MCR, System and one of Blink, Nickelback or NIN as the third headliner with Gojira subbing System or headlining second and potentially Slayer headlining second (but I think they will more likely not play Download because of the cost unless they want to play it).

If they do come back Download could do a lot worse than SOAD & Deftones. Nickelback as the third please. I mean I’m so sure on Deftones but I suppose it’s possible they don’t tour next summer. We should get a potential headliner for next summer this weekend once RAR/RIP finishes so might shed the first bit of light on who will be over.

I think those 3 as well. If Deftones aren’t about next summer, I can see it being: Nickelback, SOAD & The Offspring.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
