Live Is Live 2026

They're going big this time. We are talking about this festival here for once so I think a topic is worth it.

First headliners: Iron Maiden and Nick Cave.

It probably is a case of in Belgium but no idea how Cave sits next to Maiden on a top line. I suppose more worryingly is they got Maiden over Werchter though they haven't played since 2011. The undercard will suffer a bit with Maiden. Live is live gets acts that would sub, co-headline as the smaller act Werchter at the max which is where Cave would fit in so he's about right.

I’ve only been there once (last edition) but this is a fantastic little festival. I loved it. And what a comeback with Cave and Maiden!
There are two stages and their lineup usually consists of a few but good names. Beautiful set up in the park, food trucks around the lake with high quality food (for festival standards) and easily accessible from the city, so you can basically choose any hotel that is close to public transport or within walking or cycling distance to the park.

I’m afraid that this year the setup might be different due to Maiden though, as they’ll surely attract bigger crowds than previous years.

I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to spend a few days in the area as it can also be combined with other festivals (as an appetizer for RW for example).

Apparently the concept is entirely different this year and it is more one-off shows than a festival + they will increase the capacity quite dramatically.  So this is a full reset and not really a' festival' in the classic sense. Interesting though that they have Nick Cave who is a Werchter favourite and really big in Belgium.
