2000 Trees 2026

I'm amazed he's said it, because they're who everyone will think it is, and then they'll be gutted when it's inevitably not them

Why would people think an act that has no history with 2000 trees is going to do a secret set?, surely if they do that's the fault of them for imagining that to be a scenario. They don't play it, they've not returned, they would never return there in the future likely.

Have you ever listened to 2Promoters1Pod? James (band booker for Trees), has spoken at length on it about wanting Biffy as a dream booking for ages, and Simon and Mike Vennart have played the festival before and Simon has spoken about how much they love it and would want to play it as Biffy. There's an obvious difference in size between where Biffy are and what Trees can book, but you can see the links and why people would jump to the most optimistic conclusion. I don't think it's happening, but suggesting that any fan who puts that link together is deluded isn't accurate.

If you want to get a better understanding of how 2000 Trees works, and festival booking / management / etc, then I'd highly recommend giving the podcast a listen.

Because the promotor has literally said the words "if they were to play it'd have to be unannounced"

I haven't seen that bit to be fair, it's unlikely though. No affinity with the festival, no chance of the usual secret set that goes on to be a booked set later and not the capacity to house them. Lastly, what would even be in it for Biffy to do that.

And also now I have the confirmation of not seeing BlackFoxx posts was a good decision.

Not sure what this last bit means but the post above answers all of the bits in your first question.

There's no point being on a forum if you're just gonna post and then not read what other people reply. Especially if you're posting from a position of having less relative knowledge than other people on the subject.

trying to figure out a way for Biffy to play Trees / ArcTanGent has been discussed at length by James who runs both festivals AND by Simon from Biffy

there is plentiful reason for people to think they might pull it off some day given all parties involved want it to happen. Simon has played Trees and ATG in Empire State Bastard and loves the fests, they've discussed the idea of maybe being able to play by just performing the first three Biffy albums as a special set, etc

So there is absolutely affinity with the festival in recent years.

No affinity would be actually playing. Do you know how many bands talking about playing festivals that never actually play them. Empire State Bastard is a whole different game to Biffy themselves. Festivals booked them who never book Biffy because they could get them much lower down. You would literally have to make any area they play triple the size for when its know and that won't be much ot a giveaway lol. Wouldn't hold much hope.

I suppose the context really is that all of those artists have become bigger since they headlined the Trees Wednesday, whereas PUP are doing it when they've already surpassed that level so James is viewing them as a bigger act in this instance, despite those other artists having caught up with PUP's UK popularity level

Good point.

Dropkick Murphys have EU dates just after 2KT. Not really a band I think they’d book but has to be in the headliner conversation.

I think they'd book them! They've had Flogging Molly play before! Dropkicks would be a fantastic Trees headliner

yeah I imagine they would book a few more folky bands if they'd booked Dropkicks

maybe stuff the like The Rumjacks and Beans On Toast etc

Tigercub have since returned with a single/album announcement. Bilmuri new song in 2 weeks. Could both be on the next announcement? Wanted to start their own hype train before trees announced them ?

Possible, Bilmuri could still be on Download I guess, I'd forgotten they were supporting Bad Omens

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
