Are System of a down a plausible headliner for this year? 

I could see Ghost - SOAD - Linkin Park as a three that would draw a good crowd over the 3 days.

Nobody knows. The only info from SOAD was that they would be doing Europe at some point in 2026.

They’re doing stadiums across Europe next summer, as confirmed by their drummer a few weeks ago, who said they’re playing ‘sports grounds’. He mentioned Sweden by name.

I expect it'll be like LP, they'll play stadiums where they can be be on festival's for the others. I'm expecting it's where the likes of Werchter will be lucky.

Nice effort that, LP won't be Saturday mind and I doubt The Prodigy would take that spot. Them playing the the brightest off the Pistols slot for example would be silly and even more so for the sub slot. Let them as a one off clash the second and main on Friday and that's a banger.  The Prodigy, Maiden and LP as a set.

Feeder wouldn't be in a logo spot unless they headline Avalanche, which actually seems like a fun fit for them.

Oh yeah no doubt they’ll headline next time they play but will Download book them as headliner knowing they’ve got a UK tour earlier in the year? People who wanna see them will have already just seen them and unless they’re super fans people being more sensible with money these days are unlikely to buy a weekend ticket or even a day ticket. Just think Download stay clear of causing any booking issues by not booking anyone touring arenas earlier in 2026 to headline.

Discussion. What would be the worst headliner trio they could book for you? Let’s say only established headliner bands who have headlined the festival in the past.

 

For me it would have to be Tool, Def Leppard and Queens of the Stone Age.

Then we can all pray those bands arent picked to headline next year 😂

Def Leppard, AC/DC and Guns N Roses.

 

AC/DC and GNR because they would cost so much money and have such big demands they'd do too much damage the rest of the line up. Look at the damage they caused to the main and second stage on the years they headlined.

Worst headliner trio for me would be Tool, Slayer and Deftones. 3 bands I've never understood the attraction of and whose fans can be incredibly obsessive!
