This was year before last when it turned out to be Parkway.

Trivium one is hilarious upon reflection. We’re divvies for turning up 🤣

That’ll be why I don’t remember it then!

Hats off to whoever started that Trivium rumour, so many people were walking to the arena mid morning and talking about how pissed off they were all day, absolute belter.

It was the band that started it by basically hinting they'd be at Download to the point they set their location as at Download Festival and were just messing with people the entire time.

If we actually get Trivium next year they'll likely mention it during the set.

"The truth is out there" is also a phrase associated with former band member Tom DeLonge, who adopted it as a personal mantra for his UFO and extraterrestrial research, leading him to a brief departure from the band in the 2010s to pursue these endeavors.

It's such a random quote to have below an image of 2 witches.

Blink-182 it is then

They're not going to be that deep. If they do a hint it's going to be like the one for Green Day and be very on the nose/obvious

You say that but there were loads of people at the time in denial that it was in reference to Green Day Headlining

'The Truth is out there' just doesn't fit with the witches for me TBH but we'll see soon enough either way

Yungblud just announced a US tour ending on the 13th June so that's him out.

Fairplay, I thought he was nailed on, obviously before that thrown it. I'm glad he's not though. I really won't be shocked if he turns up in Belgium again.

In that case, I'm going for Architects, Bad Omens and Parkway Drive as the subs. Still Volbeat, Megadeth and Trivium as second stage. If Bad Omens and it's an if want more time and a stage show they COULD swap with Volbeat.

The Green Day one was a very on the nose hint referencing one of their biggest songs plus the green fireworks.

They're not going to reference a band member doing something outside of the band.

The witches is most likely because we're in October and nothing else and the truth is out there could simply mean the hints will come later on

I think it was mostly down to not believing Download could pull in Green Day but it got ro the point of them exhausting everywhere else.

If there was any hint in that email, I would take it to be in that wording over the witches having any deeper meaning. However, I suspect it's more to do with the X-Files being "spooky".

Think your subs and 2nd stage headers are spot on bar Parkway Drive now Yungblud has been ruled out. I think there’s potential they get Papa Roach to do it, could work as a good sub to Limp Bizkit.

Was torn between Papa Roach and Architects as my sub went with Architects on the basis they may want a British band somewhere high on the bill. However could easily see them being a massive secret set! And Papa Roach main sub!

Makes Architects a bit more realistic for me now.

Between these and those 3 below for subs. My friend who said about PD was definitely on the buzz of being on tbw guest list and does not have anything concrete on the original headline info

Indeed Halestorm if they appear elsewhere would be yes.

Given who has been released for Europe think we could get this.

Its a good effort but money saved to elsewhere.

I don't think they'll do it. I think PR and LB is a weak top two as well.

Parkway would be a strong sub option as woukd Architects. Think the subs will be strong this year.

Architects, Trivium & Pierce The Veil to sub, I reckon.

Bad Omens and Volbeat to headline second. Third headliner for that stage, I’m not so sure of.

I think both Bad Omens and Volbeat are too big for second stage headliner

I think they could both headline second or sub main. I think Bad Omens will take the slot they were meant to have and bring their whole stage show over with them. Volbeat have played main a lot, so I just think they might headline second instead.

Yeah I get your points to be fair. Third second headliner Alice in Chains?

    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
