Just the one logo band to come on Monday, apparently. Assuming that’s the Sunday Opus headliner. My guess is either ADTR or Volbeat and Social Distortion to move up to a logo slot from the original lineup.

ADTR, soft play and all time low are all playing nova rocks the same weekend so I suspect these may all appear.

If there's only one logo band to come, a lot of these folk won't be there. Because surely Volbeat, ADTR and ATL would all be one of those.

Could also mean Architects are subbing and Trivium are doing Opus, would look much stronger that way. The other is a piss poor look to an already piss poor headliner currently.

One of the DL admin team has confirmed that 5 day camping has sold out. Weird that they didn’t announce low ticket availability beforehand, though I suspect some shuffling may be done behind the scenes to create another allocation of these tickets.

This is coming from a long-running and deeply respected member of the Download team and I have no reason not to believe them.

If they were going to hike prices on Monday, it would have made more sense for them to pull every ticket type until then, not just 5 night GA.

Just seems very odd if this is the case 

 

You'd think they'd put out a post saying there was a low amount of 5 day camping tickets left like they did for the early bird tickets 

 

5 day camping tickets have sold out once in the past 10 years I believe so why would this year be one of the outliers? Unless they decided to sell less 5 day tickets for some reason and even then you'd expect them to tell people that beforehand

I totally agree. You’d have expected at least one “last tickets available” post (and knowing DL, several more and a few insta stories on top), this seems to have come out of nowhere.

I didn't say there was a reason to lie but that doesn't mean I have to believe Download of all places that they have actually sold out of their allocation going by their previous actions. As said above, if they have which I doubt they have sold much less and moved the allocation to 3 day due to reasons. Download terms for the 5 day tickets is the worst around anyway, pointless. Make their 3 day tickets available to actually arrive on Thursday and their situation would be much better, every major festival does this and it's crazy how Download still lags behind.

I think people are expecting far too much from this announcement. Seeing people predicting Volbeat, The Offspring, Alice Cooper and a whole host of other bands will all be announced together. Don't expect this announcement to be much more than one logo band and a few lower down bands. The main thing from this announcement will be the day and stage splits along with day tickets being released.

I'm a little more optimistic and think there's gonna be two logo acts, but I agree that this is gonna be a very small dump of acts.

 

Some of the guesses though... wild.

Neither do I, really, but if they’ve had to accommodate two stadium headliners, I wouldn’t be overly shocked if they’re given a bigger slot than usual. We’ve had NOFX headlining that stage to about 15 people before.

To be fair , they were up against the last UK Black Sabbath festival show (an 15 is hugely exaggerated of course).

 

Possibly one of the reasons why the headliners play unopposed now
