Yeah, it was wet at AM Ring. You had to walk into the fest through a small boggy bit of land that they didn't touch, but everything else was on tarmac, so it didn't matter too much. They do anything to try to deal with at IM Park?

We stopped in the only town that had shuttles in and out every day and it was 70km away. Let's just say if I ever had to do AM Ring again, I would not use that service. Was awful.

Line-up was outstanding though and tickets were only like €229.

It is different to IM Park though as camping is included and there is a €79 euro per person precept for camping with parking and day/arena only parking tickets are €79 too, which is rather expensive. However, where it is means that if you don't use a shuttle bus they put on it is your only option to get there as the nearest train station is like 70km away and there are no normal buses heading there. The shuttle busses are like €40 euros for returns too, so if there are two of you it is probably better to get a parking pass anyway.

If you had a decent pair of boots you’d be fine, the pit is on plastic flooring so wasnt boggy but every morning they had the tractors on it putting hay down. The size is definitely a bonus cause you can literally camp 10 minutes walk from main stage

My initial guess was Blink, Ghost, LP

But with this new clue I'd swap NIN for Ghost as the pre 1991 band.

Would be surprised if Ghost aren't there though... seemed nailed on. Unless they're sub? Thats gotta be doubtful though.

If the clue is complete bollocks I'd stick with blink, Ghost and LP.

Foos to be at R&L i rekn, they were heavily rumored for this year, but then they cancelled all their plans when Daves baby news came out.

I've been Rock AM Ring and if we ever do one of those again we'd do IM Park. Organisation is bad, more corporate than LN events, no signposting, no traditional transport is near the fest at all and the tarmac is a f**king killer on your joints if you are moshing.

Yeah I'd go RIP

I'm very surprised at how optimistic people's predictions are.

Blink/NIN/LP/GnR/Tool/Foos are all mad expensive, I can't see how they get three of those. You'll get one, maybe two, as long as one of them is NIN.

For the third and possibly second, you've got to lower your expectations. Yungblud, Limp Bizkit, Slayer, Biffy, Shikari, Prodigy, Muse, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Smashing Pumpkins, Deftones, Bad Omens, though those last two are arguably expensive as hell too.

To be honest, only one if them should even be with a chance of headlining Download in that bottom lot.

Which year was this?

If the clue is real then I’m going with LB, NIN, LP

If it’s fake then I wouldn’t be surprised with LB, Ghost, LP

What's the clue?

I'm honestly shocked that the headliners haven't been leaked yet

I think people in the know have been told to keep more tight lipped this year which makes me believe some of the more low-key bits of information a bit more

The fact that more than one person is saying LB, GNR, LP and the fact that that's a trio that no one would predict as a wishlist makes me believe it's true

Indeed. No one would as apart from LP it's poor

I think LB is fine as a cheaper third head, but with two stronger headliners doing the heavy lifting, most people would enjoy them, but I can't see that many people buying a ticket for them. Linkin Park is strong, if they had managed to secure SOAD as the second headliner I don't think anyone could complain, although it would be nu metal heavy.

LB have been touring the UK since 2023 April. Academy tour with wembley arena, peace hall, gunnersbury, belsonic, margate, download, arena tour, r&l. If they book them they've literally got no other options. They subbed a Download headline to a crowd that were really into it yet still not sold out.

SOAD and LP no complaints but still not LB. They are a fun gimmick for an hour of songs people care for.

In fairness with the amount of acts deciding to do their own shows now, I wouldn't be surprised if they're struggling for headliners.

Tbf GNR are a strong headliner based on stature but I think they are way past it now to the point even the old guard won't flock like download would expect

LB don’t go from subbing R&L to headlong Download in the space of nine months. It was amazing and the crowd were bang up for it but I can’t see it happening.

And as said above, GnR are big enough to do it but it wouldn’t be an inspiring booking.

I know Copping isn't the top brass there anymore, but he did say the next time they play they'll headline.

GnR are huge but it's so wide of the mark, especially if they're still demanding a 3hr set to headline.

If LB didn't do their tour and R&L it wouldn't look really weak. I'd be surprised if Download can book anything with that trio that would result in going there over RAR booking LP and Maiden. Bearing in mind RAR also have acts clashing and playing after the headliner.

He said I think they headline next time but come on 4 years straight playing. Nothing they have actually done on their own is anything more than sub positioning

Copping does often say a lot and then go back on it. He said he'd never book System of A Down again after they subbed Green Day but had them back at Download 4 years later

    • I'm personally confident that Slipknot will be one of the headliners next year (no insider info just lines up with them likely releasing an album soon)    Then there's the headliner that's never played the festival before which the bookers have alluded to so that's one of Blink, Foos, NIN, Nickelback and possibly Pearl Jam or even Bon Jovi    The third band I also think will be a new headliner who are being bumped up so Deftones, Offspring, Paramore Etc.    I'd love Slipknot, Foos and Paramore but realistically i'd go with Slipknot, Blink and Deftones
