the official sziget account stated in more than one answer that the next announcement Will be more about rock/guitars. I don't think they could Say It officially on instagram over and over in comments and not doing It. At least I expect some decent undercards.

I'm not sure you're right (although happy to be corrected). Rather, I think it said that it would contain an element of rock/guitars/indie. I don't think I've seen anything that stated they would be the main focus.

The problem could be that people are hanging on to guitar bands, expect them to be strong times.

I mean, if we get all the electronic names this Thursday, then we are getting only the live acts/bands/singers in the next announcement (hopefully next week)

A bit weird if that's the case. From a marketing standpoint, wouldn't it be best to give a bit from all genres? So each announcement could push tickets a long nicely.

I guess their thought process is if the announcement is coming just a week later it doesnt really make too much difference with ticket sales

so according to newsletter on thursday we Will get 5 hungarian djs that Will play this new underground stage... cheap solution for sziget, but still interesting, we Will see. Not sure when we'll get new non-electronic artists, even if the newsletter says It Will be soon. And yes, as someone already told me, it Is not rock bands, but "new bands and artists" so It could be rap, pop, solo artists ecc

But we already know those 5 DJ’s? There must be more names coming on Thursday…

In the newsletter, they write that we don't have to worry if we aren't a fan of electric music, because another announcement is coming REALLY soon from other genresScreenshot_20250318_060447_Gmail.thumb.jpg.3a47a90760f553c1ced86afa80286d21.jpg.

Yeah i really do think we will get them next week, electronic this week, live music additions the week after.

The way I interpreted it, was that those 5 djs were performing sets which would include the music of the other 100+ djs playing in the delta district

Yeah, this was my interpretation too. Suspect we will get some unknowns and some 'names' announced. But all DJs, with live acts probably coming next Thursday, perhaps?

The thing is with just a few more good names the lineup can become incredible. If we are getting them they have to be out quick so they can capitalise on getting as many international attendees in as possible like @branvan said.

With the "we heard you" message that was briefly put in the instagram community thing, i think its safe to assume its next thursday (but is a bit odd the message was deleted)

aug 6. dtnb. - maybe techno takeover (awakenings, youtopia)

aug 7. ???
aug 8. andrea lena - maybe house takeover (elrow, masquarede by claptone)

aug 9. metha - melodic techno takeover (be massive)

aug 10. ???
aug 11. dublic - dubstep/riddim takeover (nextlevel)

lavalava @ colosseum - maybe afro house or house or undergrund techno&house takeover

I think I've said this before, but I'm quite happy to repeat myself, that another three or four decent names and I'll have a cracking festival. And there's tons of good names out there in August. I'd be very happy if we got three or four of these:

Little Simz, Royel Otis, Amyl and the Sniffers, Ari Abdul, Wet Leg, The Last Dinner Party, The Prodigy, Biffy Clyro, Confidence Man, Girl in Red, The Kooks, Empire of the Sun, Snow Strippers, Bloc Party, Lola Young, Vampire Weekend, London Grammar, Khruangbin, Jorja Smith, Stereophonics, Michael Kiwanuka, Chase & Status, Idles, MK.Gee, The Murder Capital, Anna of the North, Bicep, Beth Gibbons, Nilufer Yanya, The Chats, Iggy Pop.

Whether we will or not is a completely different matter.

There is so much talent out there that they could book if they wanted, in fact it could be an all timer if they really wanted. Its so almost there it wont take much to turn it into such a good festival.

I guess we will see soon enough

Given the user name, I assume it's @swelsbyuk! Used to post in here quite a bit but his/her/their profile states they've not visited for the past 18 months. Looks like they've taken the direct-action approach instead!

Just trollin'

I find it really interesting to note that the description of the video for the dance lineup has no mention of Justice- are they playing main stage?IMG_3211.thumb.jpeg.e1b0bbf2ec557fcb7605cd1253e64c9b.jpeg

Is that confirmation that armin and boris will be party arena then? I’m assuming no mention of justice as they’ll be revolut or main stage

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
