Open'er Festival 2025

you are almost right, but in 2014, Jack White had only two festivals on his schedule: Open'er (announced on April 2nd) and Glasto! He then replaced Drake at Roskilde (during the festival).

Ah okay, I can only go by what his dates said. So not ruled out that he going to be involved in either if those 3 and we are still potentially 2-3 weeks from finding out. I'd be surprised if he didn't play anything in Europe with the clear gap he's got in his tour dates. He very rarely takes 2 months of while he's touring, if at all, and definitely not when the last is in Maine and the next is Kentucky. He took 39 days off between New Zealand and California before but I don't know if that was a different tour or what.

Haha, yes, I know – I've been to Open'er every year since 2011, so I really get the announcement struggle. What I meant by 'pushing' is the long gap between the last announcement and now. Usually, they’d announce some smaller or Polish names in between, but this time – nothing.

Regarding 2019: you forgot about The Strokes who were announced on April 5, which makes it even worse!

It is insane how slow they usually go when they're competing in such a massive field for international punters, but yeah I do agree that they seem to be slowly drip feeding the names this time!

I didn't realise it was so late for The Strokes either! I would say they'll finish quite strong this year, it might just be May or even June before we know the full line up haha!

I am just thinking who the last headliners might be. After Massive Attack and NIN, I would expect something more pop/mainstream oriented, but with Charli, Chappell and Olivia all out, who knows. Maybe Sabrina Carpenter?

If Sabrina is our Friday headliner, that would mean she has to play three days in a row. But there’s still room for a big name on Wednesday and Thursday, so I wouldn’t rule her out just yet. Also, some big hip-hop names are missing this year – could Drake be the Friday headliner?

Their lack of communication has gotten so bad that people are now asking local media if the festival is getting canceled:

A festival representative responded, assuring that the event is still happening and that ticket sales are going strong.

Maybe that's the reason they don't care that much about the announcements 😉

Anyway, next week is really a must, eh?

i'm not making any predictions anymore 😄 they also need to announce more (or all) names for Orange Warsaw Festival. It's taking place May 30-31 and there are only 4 names announced...

Roskilde is announcing more names tomorrow - Sabrina might be among them, which would probably rule her out for Open'er.

Do you think Muse could be a viable option? They just added another show in June.

Why would that rule her out? I think she can only play on Wednesday at Roskilde, so she may come to Open'er on Thursday.

I don't think Muse are possible – I guess they will complete the line-up with some big pop/rap names.

Sabrina has UK shows on July 5th and 6th, which would mean performing four times in five days if she also plays Roskilde and Open’er - that's a pretty tight schedule.

She can play Roskilde on July 2nd and Open’er on July 3rd (that way she would have one rest day)

Should we start worrying about cancellation? Two months of complete silence, the same thing about OWF

I don't think cancellation is likely, but this is really worrying. I remember they had breaks in announcements, like a month and a half, but two months is crazy. And it's not just the lack of new names – it's the complete lack of communication. I'm not very optimistic about the missing names. I guess a lot of things didn’t work out, hence the silence...

Worrying is the correct word. Comments are piling up on their social media with people being afraid the festival is cancelled. There is no response, and not even some Polish bands announcement was made. Orange Warsaw Festival is less than two months away, and only four names have been announced.

In 2023, SZA was announced in April as a special European festival show, but she had a European tour around that date. I am not sure if a big enough name is around this time.

I personally don't think it is cancelled, but I think the remaining headliners will be really weak (thank god Pitbull has two shows in Krakow in June, so he is most likely out). I am hoping for some decent undercard names at this point.

The tents are the best thing at Open'er nowadays, I don't care much about what's left for the main stage. Especially when the line-up is already strong and it is.

If they don't have a big name for Friday, then screw it, announce other stuff or give us a Hozier-sized headliner for that day. There's no point in waiting, really.

I have been following this festival since 2021 (the year i found out about this festival) and just wanted to point out it is very usual from them to announce their lineup "at the very last minute"

While this is ture, this year is different – they are completely silent since February 7 on their social media.
