Oscar And The Wolf confirmed according to the Pukkelpop forum. Thumbs down for me but at least there’s already a big act I want to see on each day

I was told they were months ago. Sure I posted on the first few pages here about it.

Not really someone I’m interested in either so hopefully a barn header I like that day as that’s when they typically clash

anyway, roll on tomoz and hopefully we all get some acts we like

You quite possibly did mate, apologies. Struggle to keep up with these things I keep tabs on that many.

Thought it was a certainty when he was announced for Pinkpop today anyways. Assuming it’s 7am (UK time) for the announcement tomorrow?

Good shout.

I never but tickets the usual route nowadays, got sziget ticket for £180 this year.

There's so many who buy tickets pre full lineup, then they think that's a mistake.

That's the way to do it. I try to aim for around the £200 mark for a full weekend to compensate the extra costs involved that I don't have.

Not really for me either. I think we are looking at Fontaines DC, OATW, Jack White and I'm going to go Paramore for the subs as a wild card due to hearing of them being at Glastonbury and it's that close to Werchter that I'm don't think they won't have tried to get them.

Oh don’t be silly no need to apologise.  I was only told it so I’m as interested to know if it’s true as anyone.  Good to know if a source is a good one

I I thought the packages were normally 3pm.  Not long to find out, can’t wait

Chappell Roan announcing a few festivals

could be an outside chance to sub/headline the barn

Seems to be headlining them all so personally doubt it.

The thing I’m more concerned about is the bloody TLDP seem to be subbing Olivia Rodrigo everywhere!!

Yeah I'm very concerned about TLDP subbing here now, I like them but there is absolutely no way they're at that level for me. I can take it for Kendal Calling but not at Werchter where it's £300+ for a ticket

They're fun but they would literally play the same set as this year then.

I've seen them 4 times in a span of a year and their RW performance was by far the worse from my pov. It felt tired, lacking the energy. I really hope for the new material, plus some rest thanks to cancelled eu shows should help too. I would prefer someone else, let's see

Two very, very different festivals.

Werchter usually has the strongest line up on the circuit and it’s the best ran festival I’ve ever been to. Organisation is immaculate, but the downside is that there is literally very little to do other than the music and the stages can get crowded.

Sziget on the other hand, you’ll maybe see 3 or 4 bands a day, only 2 major stages in terms of bands. But there’s just so much else to do, it’s the closest thing to Glastonbury I’ve been to and in a lot of cases it’s better. There’s a lot of genre specific areas, Coloseum is amazing for dance music, there’s a beach for relaxing. The year we went, we got a little passport as a guide for all of the things to do, not many festivals you can go from Post Malone, to Parcels, to a full circus.

I must admit I’ve never been to either since 2019, but two very different experiences and it totally depends on what you want/prefer.

From what I have heard over the years from @thetime, Sziget isn't quite the festival is used to be and even lineup wise it's taken a bit of a dive to the quality of it for when he you do want to break away for bands. They've definitely gone heavier on the electronic side. 2024 probably over 23 lineup wise for me. I'd have seen 5 vs 4 of the top line acts but undercard 24 definitely stronger.

I would rather TLDP sub down to personal taste than Chappell Roan or Noah Kahn. I admit 3rd down would be better below one of them.

They aren't but nor is Fender at headliner level there and he's doing it. I think they could grab 3rd down but ultimately the bigger picture is the festival already have ticket wise the 3 biggest gets of this year. Obviously there are a couple of acts there is even one major headliner there that isn't quite as big in Belgium but the festivals that have got Olivia have done well and Green Day cost loads. LP don't look to have been cheap either.

    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
