i do (i'm eating at the mo, so will get it in a bit), but it also needs a bit of intelligence from you to join up the dots, no one is admitting its the profits from slavery but doesn't need a genius to work out its that).

the greens have taken money from "the society of merchant venturers." whose money comes from trade thru bristol docks over many centuries. the most profitable trade was the slave trade

Ah well. I tried to find it using all sorts of criteria on searches but came up with nothing, not even anything that was similar to what you say.

have you bothered with the more difficult part of identifying how the merchant venturers got their money - requires investigation from a thinking head, cos no one is explicitly saying where its from.

merchant venturers have got their fingers in everything in Bristol so its not surprising if they're buying up political parties.

I know exactly how the Merchant Venturers got their money, I did some simple research.

What I am asking you is to back up your claims about what was said in this podcast. Are you able to provide links to back up your claims?

Also, if they have fingers in "
everything in Bristol" that means they have their fingers in you too and everything you do, where you shop, where you visit and your housing.

possibly in my housing, i haven't looked into who is behind the charity that runs my housing , i wouldn't be surprised if the merchant venturers were involved. from the little i know of them, they're quite active at picking up on new opportunities, such as being involved in quite a lot of school academy trusts around Bristol mostly i visit stoke park estate, a mansion house with parkland owned by Bristol council, which the venturers always seem to have by the balls, bet they've had privileged use of the house at some point.

the people making money from the docks were always keen to avoid taxes (the suburb of Clifton is about tax avoidance) and spread their power & influence

ultimately aren't we all living off the rewards of empire and slavery. Bring it back I reckon.

yes, but mostly there's not identifiable pots of money from slavery, the merchant venturers are probably unique in being able to trace it back to slavery.

yeah man, we're all slaves to the system.

Speak for yourself - I am one of those vile 'economically inactive' people who along with immigrants are to blame for anything and everything having decided to get off the conveyor and retire early freeing up time to volunteer to help some who need help.

f**k the system

How about the Church of England and the UK Government - both have very identifiable links back to it.

and the monarchy - thing is all have other sources of money, that the money from slavery has got mixed with over time. merchant venturers is only from successful trading thru bristol docks, most of which was slavery or tobabaco or timber, mostly slavery.
