I saw them in 2019 also at APE and then again that Summer so could compare. It wasn’t their performance that was bad, it really was just the sound, so wouldn’t read anything into this.

Seen them at Primavera last year too and they were superb, and as you can tell from my username im a big fan.

Nah, it's looking perfectly good (if not absolutely perfect) 🙂

Does anyone who went last year have some top tips of how to best enjoy the festival?

Last year it was just a really easy festival to enjoy. Its not too big and wasn't too crowded last year so it was easy to see the stage.

My one top tip would be not to go too early and enjoy the festival right up till near close. Especially if you like some dance music.

Also they have people that have beer packs and come and fill your cup up and take payment through wrist band so keep your eye out for them.

Weather is not looking good 😰

Weather is fine. I live about half an hour away from the festival site and it’s a bit cooler than it has been recently but it’s still pretty warm. It might be a bit cloudy during the festival but I highly doubt there’s going to be rain if that’s what you’re worried about.

On the beach with a few beers, jamon ruffles and smothered in factor 50. Just seen the 224 bus is running all night from festival back to Fuengirola every half hour as well so an absolute win that.

Good info. Staying in Fuengirola myself. Do you know if those buses take cash or card or do we need to buy some travel card and top it up?

I wouldn't have thought so.

Looks like they did the same last year (https://mijasinternational.com/actualidad/25127/the-m-224-bus-line-to-calahonda-reinforces-its-night-timetable-during-the-cala-mijas-festi/, https://malaga.avanzagrupo.com/en/news/2022-timetable-changes), I can't find any confirmation that the same is in place this year, but it would make sense if it was the same.

Running all night, looks like cash only (€1.55) if you don't have a local transport card. Details for this year here: https://ctmam.es/refuerzos-en-la-ruta-m-224-calahonda-cala-de-mijas-fuengirola-del-31-de-agosto-al-2-de-septiembre-por-festival-cala-de-mijas/
