Ridiculous timing given the rail strike, trying to cut off the South West again !!

Worth bearing in mind for any overnight arrivals from Devon and Cornwall !!

M5 in Somerset to close overnight for five days of roadworks - Somerset Live

A stretch of the M5 in Somerset is to close overnight this month for five days for resurfacing work to be carried out. The northbound carriageway of the motorway between junctions 23 and 24 at Bridgwater will be closed from June 13 to 16.

The closure will be in place from 8pm until 6am each night. Diversions will be put in place.

The northbound carriageway will close again from Monday, June 20 to Wednesday, June 22 for two nights from 8pm to 5am.

Should be alright, those coming from south can go through town, won’t be that many & there is a sweet new cut through that cuts out 50% of having to drive through the town.

The only 'day' when it might affect people with normal tickets is the Tuesday evening on the 21st.

 

and even then, the diversion will add about 15 minutes to the journey if you go that way.

Silly question. If you're coming from the South, wouldn't you get off at 24?

Coming from the North we get off at 23...
