I bet the whole of Scotland had wished they'd voted yes in 2014.

theyd have had bigger cuts than tory cuts and would be in a worse cost of living crisis.

you mean a local councillor who was popular amongst local party members but labour hq didn't like?

if he's that popular he doesn't need the labour party to become mp.

Maybe, but how is she replaced?

For all the talk of needing to get all the MPs to agree I don't think that's correct. If they can get 70 percent to agree they can whittle quickly to the 2 and get the second person to pull out. The precedent has been set when Leadson did this to allow May to become PM.

yeah, and I guess maybe Wallace is that person mostly likely to get widest support...

they'd be a super scandi social democrat EU country full of sexy renewables and with a great future ahead of them. Maybe they could send us food parcels.

renewables owned by private companies, not the SG. a massive deficit, that the EU will require the  SG to address. so huge tax rises or huge spending cuts.

nah, they'd be able to borrow to invest, a new burgeoning EU economy, a bright star with Nicola Sturgeon showing herslef as a great international statesperson..out of a fucked UK led by neo-lib nutters, the laughing stock of the world.

there's this thing called democracy...

which will get him voted to be mp, if he's as popular as he's claiming.

a growth plan like truss's, more like the tories than ever!

invest in what? if it was that easy, we'd all be millionaires already.

snp have had 8 years since last ref and haven't come up with a growth plan yet.

voting for indy would be a national act of self-harm, greater than brexit? sturgeon is your farage, and just as honest.

I'm sure he could be persuaded by the men in grey suits.

Possibly but if he couldn’t before then why now when the party are in a worse position?

he was trying to stand to be a Labour MP. He is a labour councillor and member and has local support and backing from two trade unions. He doesn't know why he was blocked, although suggests it was because he liked a Caroline Lucas tweet. He doesn't stand a chance as an independent and you know it. Maybe he has done something else that has upset Labour, but there doesn't appear to be a valid reason.

could be...although he didn't exactly get unanimous support from MPs back in July or whenever it was...

It was pretty good support wasn’t it?

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
