Cheers, it's good to hear more positive feedback. I think we're set on going for Bath and West. My feelings having done East is that you are already outside the main festival site so packed a day bag for the day / night out rather than heading back if you could help it anyway. So being a short ride away is more psychological than practical about not being at the festival.

For us having better facilities for the sprog where we're based will mean we can really get stuck in to the fun while on site.

That being said for anyone else, the toilet facilities in East I thought were pretty good, enough people in the field have their own toilets that I don't remember real queues at any point. If you aren't with little ones and will be able to make use of the naughty corner properly then East definitely makes sense.

Hi there, luckily enough to get tickets this year (happy to help the unfortunate in the resale). We have the opportunity to borrow someone’s camper for it, but have just found out it’s 8.4 metres long.

we don’t really fancy going to Bath and West and was looking to park up in East, would this be possible if we bought two campervan tickets? Many thanks in advance.

Hi all,

Thanks for the guidance in this thread, a few more questions from an international attendee here that’s trying to figure out how it all works:

If we are able to get a camper van pass when they go on sale, will there be enough vehicles around to hire? Or is it necessary to put a deposit down on one first? Struggling with the order of things here!

Also, has anyone done the East (Quiet) field with a toddler? I know it’s a family friendly area but is 2 years too young in people’s view?

Thanks!

If you have ticket for the festival then get a campervan booked ASAP, they get snapped up fast. Don’t wait for the passes to go on sale. You should get plenty of notice of when the passes go on sale so just be at your computer ready to buy as soon as the are available.

Get the camper van booked asap, the passes have not been a problem and come back on sale because the system means people buy multiple by accident.

Never found East too noise, other than the naughty corner’s bass. Our 1 year slept fine last year when he stayed in our caravan in E15

Here's a question. If I am booked on a coach is it possible for me to drive a campervan onto site then leave the site to get my coach and pick up my ticket?

Coach ticket holders can’t buy a cv ticket, so a mate would have to buy it for you and then be in the cv with you as you drive it on site. Technically what you want to do is possible but a bit of a faff.

I presume Bath and West is less popular than the 'proper' sites so should be relatively easy to get hold of? All the reports on here about there seem pretty favourable in terms of how often and quick the shuttle is.

We have a trailer tent and used East in 2016 but have a little one now and having access to showers to rinse the mud off them at the end of the day appeals.

The only downside might be being dropped the 'wrong' (for kids field) side of the site, they don't do drops to gates other than A do they?

First Glastonbury this year and we stayed at Bath & West. When we found out that Bath & West wasn’t actually on site we were gutted and thought we would try and get onsite in the resale. Before then though I stumbled across this brilliant site and read a review of Bath & West which was great and so we decided to leave it and give Bath & West a go.

Best decision ever ?

There was always buses at the pick up/drop off which is right by the toilet and as the previous reviewer said great for nipping the loo before you get on and when you get home.  Buses picking you up are always there but only downside would be coming home you have to go back to Gate A which can be a ball ache depending on where you end your night.

Hot shower was an absolute godsend but from Thursday there was massive queues in the morning so we often showered when we got back and then went straight to bed.

There is a food van doing bacon butties and the like. Was always open in the morning but we never got back before 2am so don’t know what time it closed. We cooked our own breakfast so couldn’t say exactly how much but remember thinking at the time it was quite reasonable.

Only thing to say is that I came with my hubby and 15 year old and we’re in our late forties so for us, hot showers and proper toilets and a bed were a must, I think where you camp is entirely about what you want from your Glastonbury experience.

I wasn’t fortunate enough to get tickets Sunday but I will be trying again in the resale and hopefully heading to Bath & West again next June ??

Thanks for the advice, we do have festival tickets.

You would need your ticket as well as the cv pass to get on site.

This is probably true in theory, but I’ve only ever been asked to show cv ticket to get into cv fields. It’s only at PGC that you need to have main ticket.

Like you say, this plan is probably possible but sounds like an almighty faff. Easier to get a friend to get a cv ticket and drive your van in @Field Commander Jefferson on Tuesday and then you join it on weds or thurs after your bus arrives.

Do NOT under any circumstances hire a motorhome from

National Motorhomes / Motorhome Hire UK

Massive rip off merchants who will add loads of hidden fees then hang on to your security deposit until you sic your credit card heavies onto ‘em or take ‘em to court. In fact whoever you consider hiring from, I urge you to check out consumer reviews first.

Cheers, that makes a lot more sense
