Dont suppose anyone has been to this previously? Never heard of it before and only looks like a small event but the location and The National being announced makes me quite tempted, although Palermo doesn't seem to have a huge amount of flexibility when it comes to cheap flights.

Ryanair flies to Trapani that is close to Palermo.

I heard really good things about Ypsirock, also Sicily is lovely.

Ryanair fly to Palermo from Manchester.

Initially looked at Manchester as I am in the North West but they only seem to fly twice a week and the days dont work that well for the festival.

Might try and do it with stay in Cefalu which looks really nice.

Thanks Alan too - I'll look into that.

It's a really nice festival, with a main stage in the main square of the town and other smaller events during the day, but it's in a small ancient town, not really close to the biggest sicilian cities and Sicily is really beautiful but it's not the easier Region to travel in, with a few trains and buses. So if you have time to take a trip around Sicily, it could be great, but if you have a few time to spend, I don't know if it could be the best goal.

I can't help with the flying from UK stuff but I can recommend visiting Cefalu if you are around. You'll probably need a car because public transportation isn't ideal there.

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
    • Shambles. Transport and comms garbage. Been looking forward to this since last June and have never been to a more disorganised festival in 30+ years.  Why we were told the whole festival was cancelled for the night if they had put back shows for a few hours?  Pissed off to say the very least and put a huge downer on the rest of the weekend.
    • Rotten communication. Actually god awful. Posting sporadically on IG, closing Mordor only to reopen and cause some serious carnage. Left the festival as it got too much for my 16year old daughter. She was devastated about Alex G and Mac…but TV girl could have saved it. Took us until 1220 and already home to find out they might/are playing. Pish.    and on another note, this festival has lost its bastard soul. Gone are the wee tents with local sellers selling vinyl, t shirts etc, now you can buy a 50 f**king eur official T-shirt. The ar*e is truely out of this event now. I went to Porto for the first time last year and it was fab. I love Barcelona and the line up is always stacked, but this festival is a corporate loss take. Hopefully a better day tomorrow.
