Cancelling Ticket/Refunds

Hi all,

It is with a very heavy heart that I am even asking this question or considering this option but here goes....

Unfortunately I was caught up in the unseemly events which have been happening too often lately and consequently it has shitted me up a bit. I've been Glastonbury about ten or so times before (first one 1994)  so I know the drill etc however I was wondering if a refund is possible under the circumstances? I'm not bothered about all the queues and whatnot but as I am at the moment I don't think I would be able to relax and enjoy it even if nothing happened?

I know normally a refund is not considered but because of the situation I was thinking they might relax the rule a bit.

Sorry to hear you've been caught up in recent events. Can't imagine how it must affect somebody.:( I think the chances of anything happening at Glastonbury are very very slim but I know how it must be playing on your mind all the same. Sadly I don't think a refund would be possible at this stage but if you phone See and talk to them there is a chance they may take pity although I do doubt it. Sorry to hear. I hope they understand your situation - glad you're okay too. Might be worth calling up SeeTickets and explaining what has happened: hopefully there's a human on the other end.

Probably out of the question ,,,, the only time a refund at this late stage was if a terror attack happened at the site which caused a cancellation by the festival producers ... highly unlikely .

One can try and see by calling and find out for sure

First of all - i am sorry you had to witness these horrible events and i would not want to be in your shoes at those times. however i would like to think that Glastonbury is a retreat and a place to go and forget about world problems and the fact that you've been for so long you should know how much of a getaway and how distant you are from everything. i would ask you to seriously think against asking for a refund. it will play on your mind on day 1 but after a few beers and the hours go by you will forget all about threats.

Thank you for all your kind replies and advice. I have phoned See Tickets and essentially it's a no go for a refund. Since it's all booked I guess I'll see how the ground lies and how I feel the day before I'm due to leave. Hopefully, although  everything is a bit raw now, maybe it'll settle down given a couple of weeks.

@PFMooncat I am so sorry to hear that you have been caught up in these events and my thoughts are with you. What has happened recently is truly devastating and I cannot begin to imagine how you feel. Take some time to focus on your health and wellbeing. Whilst we all know the healing powers Glastonbury possesses, you know better than anyone what you need and it’s important to look after yourself first and foremost. All I will say to you is that when you are ready, Glasto will be waiting for you and it will welcome you back with open arms. We all will. I promise. Be that in two weeks or two years time. Again, my thoughts are with you. Take care x

Hiya! I'd suggest getting in touch with the festival about what they can do to help. Someone else in your situation did, and they're organising shuttle buses to help them stay away from the big crowds as much as possible.

You could also leave early if you just weren't feeling right, you wouldn't have to feel bad about that either. Also it could be an opportunity to have a different kind of Glastonbury, staying in the quieter, more relaxed fields, which I love to spend time in.

      Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.

      Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
