100%ish security check in queue gate d

They started to fill the zigzag about 45mins ago but they are checking EVERYONE to a lesser or greater extent.

Many many bag searches, close torch look into plastic boxes, many frisk searches . Can understand this but with only 6 people / 3 queues if they do the same detail tomorrow on everyone i'd question if they would get everyone in before fest starts.

Do this detail by all means but give it sufficient people to keep peeps moving

I've kinda been waiting for them to take this chance tbh, i think we'd be hearing if there were people getting dragged out though. They might be looking for a load they think is coming in rather than really wanting to mess up a lot of folk's festivals

I don't think it necessarily means anything sinister is going on. Doing security sweeps while people are standing there waiting makes a lot of sense from a time management point of view. I've always been surprised at the extent to which I've just walked on in when the gates open.

can confirm they are doing random frisk searches, bag searches, and checking every ticket with a torch and asking questions eg place of birth, name.

the zig zag at gate D is barely even half filled and they started letting people in at midnight it's nearly 3.30am.

not sure if I'm getting confused with the way its looked in previous years but can see tents set up outside gate D entrance. unsure if it's for bag searches or strip searches - but surely they aren't allowed to do anything more than a pat down?

Are you saying that they are letting the car parking guys onto the actual festival site now to put up their tents? At 3.30am! If so, that really IS unusual!

    • I read a reliable source saying there's not enough time to stress test and have worked through any major financial decisions between now and then.   So guarantees this budget will just be tinkering at the edges only.
    • Thanks @sisco. Looking forward to it!
    • Looking like will be bringing a 2-3 month old to Glastonbury next year
    • Healey's first budget with be Oct 28th
    • Been going for 10 years. Wasn't massively keen on the lineup beforehand - although as usual after some research I did start to really look forward to it. We had a brilliant time, felt more like old school Latitude, lovely vibe and we met some nice people. We saw loads but highlights for me -   Lime Garden Florence Road Jalen Ngonda David Byrne - Not a fan of him or TH really but we went out of interest and it was one of those festival shows that you'll never forget. The staging was off the scale. Eleni Drake - Up on BBC Introducing, what a haven that stage is.  Westside Cowboy Getdown Services - Probably highlight of the weekend for me. Absolutely brilliant and have booked tix for them in Bristol next year. Everything Everything - They're my favourite band so I loved it when they were added. A great start to Sunday and met loads of their fans up near the front. Alex James Britpop - We enjoyed it and Gary Stringer FFS! David O'Doherty - Saw him twice, brilliant as usual. Self Esteem - Adore Rebecca and the show was as live affirming as always.   Overall, it was such a brilliant weekend. Beforehand we said that we might give it a miss next year but I'm pretty sure that we'll be sucked right back in!
