Do you actually think if you went running through the turnstiles in full uniform whilst talking on your walki talki, anyone would try and stop you? I guess most of the people that sneak in have to be pretty brazen about it.

Confidence goes a long way. We wanted to visit our friends who were in crew camping, which has stewards checking wristbands, so we just decided to go for it and walk straight in, smiling and saying "morning!" and never got asked!

Or have £100 to give a to crew member to borrow a crew band for 5 mins..

Can't see that one working unless there's some serious trust on one side or another.

For any crew member to lend their band to a stranger would be a hell of a risk on their part.. If the person didn't get the band back to them somehow, they'd lose their deposit, be locked out from the Festival, and their crew campsite, and put on the "do not employ" blacklist.

Certainly I think only a tiny minority of crew would even consider lending their wristband to someone - and I really can't imagine any doing it that cheap. My guess is that the starting price would be about £250, plus another £250+ deposit. That's if you could find someone.

Well, I'm not discussing the rights or wrongs of it, but it happens. I camped near several people who came in this way last year & they didn't pay anywhere near £250 

and I don't think it's "lend their bands" more have a couple of spares for the purpose

Agree with you on the confidence. In 2014 I had hospitality camping and passes however I had a friend who I wanted to bring with me into the camping area who didn't have a pass, I just told him to be confident, smile and say hello to security and we walked right in. Very scary though and only did it the once!

That's a different thing then, and might well happen - but it's still not something I'd think about even if I was trying to break in..

I'm not going to go into specifics for obvious reasons, but over the years I think I've spotted plenty ways in that could succeed to get through the gates and a few that almost certainly would.. Trying to find someone that'll accept payment to get you in is one of the worst - the odds of getting connected with the right person before you attract the attention of the wrong one are pretty poor and even then you've still got to hand over cash to someone you don't (or shouldn't) trust without any guarantees.

Yeah, doing it to get into the festival itself is a step up from hospitality, but hey it could be worth trying

Yes it definitely happens, you are given an EPO band & are walked through, you give the band back somewhere quiet. You can (I'm told I've never been without a ticket) just wait in a certain spot I'm not going to mention here, where you can easily work out who's doing it, as some of the people without tickets I knew last year were waiting for a certain guy to show up but after a couple of hours came in with another doing the same thing for a few quid more 

Again, I'm not promoting the rights or wrongs, but I can assure you it goes on, and for all we know, things could be different this year.

A couple of years ago I had a conversation with a group of welsh people without bands who said they'd just turned up & walked through a gate. It isn't always the Area 51 that it's made out to be & there will be many chancers chancing. It's just the nature of it

I have witnessd this going on, a conregation of youngsters - usually luggage free awaiting "the man" who gets them in . Has happened for the last 3 festivals.

Omg don't! That's just the worst. I'm really hoping there isn't a radio comp where 2 people have to go against each other to win. It would be awful to go against someone on here. That's the type of comp it was with R1xtra in 2014. I felt so bad for the other person.

If ee run the Glastonburied again next year, and if you could get away with it and if you could be arsed, It would be possible to set up like 20 accounts, guessing the same 3 coordinates each day so you have the main land marks covered a few times you'd odds on. 

But morally, the effort involved and the fact it would look pretty bait would make this very hard.

They're quite clear in the T&Cs that you can only enter once per person, so yeah it would look super obvious and I'm sure you'd just get disqualified, so it's not really worth the effort. 

What would be worth the effort though is if you recruited all of your mates who would take a free ticket to tweet for you. Only really works if you're looking to just get yourself in, but obviously massively increases the odds.

If they do it again next year they might change it, but obviously it's also worth guessing stage squares right off the bat
